Russell Gas - CO2 supplier in East of Scotland

My 6kg cylinder has lasted me more than a year in the past for similar use on a 2 keg setup. I think you may have a slow leak somewhere.

Here's the cream ale brewed at 35c with lallemand Voss Only been in the keg since Monday and it's drinking very well. A very slight cidery whiff on the nose, but very clean tasting. Another week or so in the keg and I reckon this will be a beauty. I usually use Nottingham for this and it's...

    Beer lines?

I'd buy dedicated beverage lines - they are designed not to let in oxygen etc.

    Beer lines?

Lots of options out there. I use 5/16 (8mm) EVA barrier line - very flexible and available from the Kegland store on Aliexpress.

I pitched the whole pack in a 23l batch and it still took 5 days to reach final gravity even at 35 c. The last few days it chugged along and dropped the final 2 points. I also managed to get 3 60ml samples of slurry, which hopefully will each be enough for another batch. I will be drinking the...

Sounds and looks excellent! Just about to try a keg of cream ale fermented with lallemand Voss, first time using it. Which strain did you use? Sorry if you've already stated this, the thread is massive!

    Pressure fermenting

Good shout, I'll do this I think, makes sense not to stress the yeast from the very start.

Help me choose a pressure fermenter

I did try it with the stand inverted but still no joy, I can get it in at an angle but then it would still be impossible to hook up the spunding valve etc. :(

Newbie Brewzilla question - Mash and Sparge size?

I calculated 5l of recoverable dead space below the malt pipe , then 3l per kilo. I generally have a 5kg malt bill, so 15 *3 + 5 = 20 litres strike water. My sparge is then generally about 10 to 12 litres depending on boil length.

    Hi from Stirling, Scotland

Hi and welcome! I'm just up the road from you in Alloa, also a fellow robobrewer :) Why not make a counterflow chiller? I hummed and hawed for ages then managed to knock one up in about an hour after I got the parts.

Help me choose a pressure fermenter

I've just bought an all rounder and will be using it this weekend, unfortunately it doesn't fit in my undercounter fridge. I'll either see if the ambient garage temps and pressure work for a brew, or pitch some Voss slurry I have at 35 c and let it sort itself out. Either way I'll have to...

    Lagering method

I would keg it and keep it cold - less chance of oxygen spoiling it that way.

    Pressure fermenting

Hi, I've just got myself a KL all rounder 35l and an extra Co2 tank and reg etc. to try pressure fermenting, so I'm not an expert by any means but this is what I intend to do - I prefer clean, light ales and lagers (Kolsch, Golden, Cream Ale etc.) so I will be fermenting at ~ 15 PSI to...
