Can i brew an AG recipe in 2 to 3 stages?

I guess the idea is to have a larger batch, I have a suitable fermentor for 10ltrs but if I'm making the effort and waiting for the end result, I would prefer to have 20ltrs at the end of the full process, hence the question about making double and mixing the batch.

Really glad I asked now, cheers!

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

I will give some of those a go thanks. I have had Leffe quite some years ago but don't recall enjoying it, my pallet may have matured now though so it's worth another try. This was thr first ever Porter for me so I have nothing to compare it to, but was rather nice to my taste, I will need to...

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

It does taste very much in the stout style but lighter in colour and body, less toasted even, if that makes sense, it's an easy drinker though.

Can i brew an AG recipe in 2 to 3 stages?

Ok perfect thanks both! Not at the stage where I will try this yet, but it's on the cards and thought I would ask the question while I remembered.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Well, I followed advice and trying a Porter, couldnt find London Porter in lidl so went with their own brand. It's actually very nice indeed, like a lighter softer Guinness. It's also only 135 calories and 5g carbs for 500ml bottle at 4.5% Just in case anyone needs to justify it lol, it's like...

Can i brew an AG recipe in 2 to 3 stages?

I don't have large equipment for a 20ltr AG SMASH, so I will be doing maybe a 10ltr to start with on the stove. The question is, if I want to ferment more than 10ltrs, can I stove prepare 10ltrs, transfer to the fermentor and stove brew a second 10ltrs and add that on top of the previous brew...

That looks very good! So is a porter a type of stout? I love a stout but still learning my way around what different beer names actually relate to or are similar to. Whatever it is, it sounds up my street😁

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Ah ok thank you, will add that to my watch list for later. I was looking to use thr coopers irish stout kit with a small boil addition to the kit malt extract and maybe some coffee, but open to any new ideas.

What recipe did you use for that? I'm considering trying a small stove top AG dark stout or Stella style lager. I have a recipe for the lager but not one tied down for the Guinness style, there seems to be a lot of variation to recipes I have seen for dark stouts.

Planning my first cider, have i got this right?

Well, I currently have a batch of lager on day 14 and fermentation has stopped, so it's going into a cold crash for a couple of days then in the bottles Tuesday, so that means an empty fermentor Wednesday. 😁 So I have decided to get a cider on the go. The plan is, 9ltrs of Lidl apple juice...

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

I am drinking this while my first ever brew matures. As a copy goes, this is a really good copy of Peroni. Lidl's own brand, far better than the Aldi copy that just seems to have a similar label rather than flavour.

    What does it taste like?

God yes Shipyard, not Shipmanns, that's the serial killer Doctor🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Shipyard looked lovely but was too heavy on the hop for my taste. Doom Bar just wasn't right for me either, no specific reason, can't say it was over hopped, just didn't go down well. I was only drinking it...

    Ian

Well, day 12 of the process and still in fermentor. I messed up my first gravity reading but researching the average gravity on this kit and taking into account I am brewing 21ltrs rather than 23ltrs I have OG 1040. Just checked gravity and its at 1006, so that's quite a good drop giving me 4.5%...

    What does it taste like?

That's another area of darkness for me. I like the variety in 1664 stras something, can't remember exactly the name. The current lager brew I have going as hersbruker in it, early taste test is promising, this is supposed to be similar to that in 1664. Other than that, I'm a hop virgin...

    What does it taste like?

I am lucky enough to have Grey Trees Brewery a stones throw from the house and as such, they have their own small specialist pub in town, so I need to get the lads to pop in there as they do have a lot of different craft options I could try maybe. I did have a marshmallow stout in there once...

    What does it taste like?

That's exactly my plan for my next batch, but just 9ltrs I think at the moment with some frozen black cherries added in the fermentor. I don't have enough bottles yet for a 20ltr batch at the moment. If the current lager I have on the go is ready to bottle, I could be starting the cider Sunday.

    What does it taste like?

That's a fair point to be honest, would still mean trying a lot of beers to find one I would like to start with, if any that is. In my mind, I am looking to lager, cider and dark stout, but I guess I don't know what I do or don't like in the beer world yet.

    What does it taste like?

I am pretty much brand new to the party and I have only been researching for the past 3 to 4 weeks and have my first kit brew on day 12 I think it is today. I haven't had a great delve into brewing software as yet, but I have taken a look at a few calculators for brew recipes etc. I am really...
