New member with new home bar saying hi!

Welcome aboard! That set up look quite fantastic! I have also been pondering doing a resin bottle cap table, smaller scale than this of course, just a side table for the fun of it more than anything else. Yours looks amazing!

    Mangrove jacks cider kit

I made mine to 23ltrs and used the mangrove jacks cider enhancer, not sure if I have worked it right, but its looking to be around 6% and tastes pretty good already at 10 days old!

    Lager Problems

I made a coopers lager and swapped the yeast for novalager yeast for a better lager style finish as it ferments at ale temps, easier to use without temp control. I also added some hersbrucker dry hops to mine to give it some flavour and it has turned out pretty good. I also brewed short to...

    Ignore, can't delete

I have actually been ignoring this thread since my last post, but got curious...turns out there is nothing to see here, continuing to ignore as instructed...

Back in after 20 yrs, a few questions.

Sounds like you have been busy! I did get the MJ blueberry cider on today and went by the instructions for a change and made it to 23ltrs but used the MJ cider enhancer rather than just dextrose, apparently it makes a difference to flavour and body. The smell was amazing and it tasted great...

What fermentation temp control swings are acceptable?

My coopers lager finished at 1006 so very similar, it seems to be a very hungry yeast!

    What did you brew today?

Well, the coopers irish stout with choc malt and demerara sugar was bottled last night and I had a quarter of a pint as a taste test, I have to say, it was rather good already! Since the FV was empty, this afternoon I have put on a Mangrove Jacks craft series blueberry cider with the mangrove...

    Mangrove jacks cider kit

100g sugar in 1ltr of liquid gives approximately 36 points, 1000g, as recommended in the kit if put in 21ltrs will give 48g per ltr, 17 points. 700g divided by 21ltrs gives you 33g per litre so 12 points. Difference of 5 points which should be around 0.7% volume reduction over the kit...

    Scum

The WRX is now just for fun, but was my family daily driver in the beginning. I now have a boring daily cheap work horse Kia Ceed estate, that I actually love, so I can use the WRX when I feel like best of both worlds.

    Scum

Yes the same here, the first car I have wanted in many years. I have owned a 2006 WRX since new and every time I think of chopping it in, I can't really justify anything else for the cost, not even the GR. It's a quicker car on paper or a track, but in the real world, it's not going to be any...

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Ah right, I have never noticed this in a supermarket, will have to take a look, cheers!

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Is that a cherry beer? It's kind of given me a flash back to something in France many years ago, pretty sure I have had a cherry beer there but can't recall it for sure...

    Scum

That one but last isn't actually a GR Yaris, just a standard Yaris. The GR isn't a 4 door and neither is there much of a market for the front bumper and lights as it won't fit a standard Yaris. Sorry to go all car bore lol! With regard to the thread title though, these types are gutter rats...

That is crystal clear!! What ABV is that?

Back in after 20 yrs, a few questions.

I am looking to do another lager following the cider and the 86 days pils is one I am considering, or maybe I just stick with what I know with the current coopers and reduce the hop a little. As for the cider, I have seen some good reviews of the MJ craft range but have been considering brewing...

    Novalager

I have drank a few of mine ans don't get any fruit flavours, if anything, it's quite bitter almost San Miguel style, a long way from fruity with a reasonable hop flavour. Icwould use Novalager again if only for the convenience of temperature range as someone without temperature control.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

I'm getting on with the only thing I have currently, more hopped lager, the more I drink it the more it has that San Miguel style to it. Hopefully my stout will be in the bottle in the next couple of days and a blueberry cider replacing it in the FV😁

    Poorly printer

I have to admit, I have nothing constructive to add, I hate cheap home printers! Its one of those techs that doesn't seem to have improved in decades unless you spend hundreds on one or many many pounds on the recommended ink, it still only works a handful times even then! Most tech is getting...
