anyone got Instructions for wilko golden ipa?

In my experience, Wilko yeast takes a little while to get going. It'll get there!

anyone got Instructions for wilko golden ipa?

I usually give them a stir and put the lot in.

anyone got Instructions for wilko golden ipa?

You can just throw them in but as an alternative you could make a hop tea. Put your hop pellets in a jug and add water at about 80°C and let them sit for a while then just pop them in the FV. A hop tea is said to be better for aroma and flavour.

anyone got Instructions for wilko golden ipa?

Cold crashing means putting the FV somewhere cold so that the gunk and hops can settle in the FV. I put mine on the concrete floor in the garage as it's pretty cold at the moment. In the summer, I pop it in my brew fridge to cool it. I really wouldn't add hops at four days as they're probably...

anyone got Instructions for wilko golden ipa?

I'd add them at around ten days in the FV and leave them in for four days before cold crashing for a couple of days.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Tried my salted caramel Christmas porter brewed in September. Definitely the best AG beer I've brewed so far. Annoyingly, I only brewed 6L as it was my first porter and I didn't want to waste ingredients on something that might be rubbish. Definitely going to repeat for next year but a bigger batch!

    OBs Christmas Agony Aunt Page

Dear Auntie O Like many I'm looking forward to Santa popping down my chimney in a week's time. Is there anything I should do to prepare myself for his coming?

What' the most memorable (not necessarily in a good way) pub you've ever drunk in...?

Got spoiled for choice early on being a Stourbridge lad that worked in The Black Country. Bloke I worked with used to take inside sales staff to Ma Pardoe's or The Bull and Bladder on a Friday. Didn't get much done of a Friday afternoon!

    pennine's brewdays

Not much to be honest. I'd up the quantity next time.

    pennine's brewdays

I found Olicana way more subtle than the description but only used about 50g for a hop tea in a 23L pale.

Worlds best footballer spotted at the Etihad.

I'm a Wolves fan of fifty plus years and the next superstar has just arrived at the Molineux.... Fábio Silva!

Tesco had a 25L for £8 last week.

Where do you store your malt?

£8 for a 25L one in Tesco at the mo.

    matt76's Brewdays

In my (limited) experience, Styrian Wolf is a lovely hop. Nothing like Citra but definitely floral with a delicate hint of violet. Hope you enjoy it - I did!

To prime or not to prime

Lots of rumours of drip trays emptied back into the mild back in the 70s/80s!

    The youth of today.

As with most things, it's a small minority that spoil it for the rest of us. The vast majority of kids are fine.

    What did you brew today?

23L of AG London Pride clone from Worcester Hop Shop based on the GH recipe.

Have a go at simple AG

I've just done my second AG (using @MyQul's maxi BIAB method for 23L) and it was much less stressful than my first using this method. Learned so much from the first one that made the second much more relaxed (so much so that I got the washing and ironing done at the same time!).

wanting to do my first AG BIAB...

@MyQul also has an excellent maxi BIAB method if you search for it.
