The UK doesn't want the Imperial system back.

Plus does the pint glass include head space or not , a lot of craft bars in ireland have snuck in the 400ml "pint" glass, so it looks like a pint but it's 168 mls short of a pint but priced at the same price or slightly dearer than a macro genuine pint

The UK doesn't want the Imperial system back.

One thing I find crazy about driving in the UK is the fractions of a mile to the next motorway service centre exit , all through Europe its 800mts or whatever rather than ⅞ of a mile Sorry Tony posted at the same time as you, great minds and all that ....

Not to forget horsepower as a measurement of power instead of kW, and simultaneously being the displacement size of an engine

I have a drinking issue and need some assitance.

Regular beers canned or bottled generally have 180 days /six months best before date , bottle conditioned beers eg Belgian Ales have a couple of years best before date , and many drink them after that time has elapsed , presuming that the cap is still sealed, they're still good to drink . The...

I have a drinking issue and need some assitance.

In a past life I had many peoples' dream job of being on a taste panel in a very large brewery . Even with their meticulous attention to detail, there is always some dissolved oxygen in the kegged beer. (They achieved very low levels in parts per billion, I doubt us homebrewers would get near...

    Nitros 70/30

I've flow control taps, I'm not a fan of coils of beer line in my kegerator , it's really no big deal to throttle back on the pressure, and no impact on head height/carbonation. My regulator doesn't have a secondary gauge , however I use line pressure test gauge similar to this one...

    Nitros 70/30

Just be aware that the max pressure rating on nuka taps is 30psi, I've lost a half keg of beer and a cylinder of mixed gas , due to a seal blowing on the tap

    Nitros 70/30

You'll need a stout tap with a restriction plate or a stout spout attacked to a nuka tap etc
  10. Sorcerers Apprentice

    Nitros 70/30

It will, you'll need to drop it back to 28psi to serve it after 2 weeks of carbonation / nitrogenation

Anybody experimented with recirculating dry hopping?

I'd the pleasure of spending a day in Cigar City Brewery, in Tampa Florida. After the tour I got to spend an hour or more with Jay the Welder, who invented the famous Spinbot 5000. They use it for wood aging, dry hopping and spice additions . It's a spherical vessel with a centre filter column...

Motorcyclist fined after fireball Cambridge car crash

If there was a car travelling in front of the bike at the same tee junction and had to brake suddenly to avoid a pedestrian or whatever, the motor bike would still have ploughed into the back of it. Speed was the primary issue in this collision , learning to pre emp other road users mistakes...

Motorcyclist fined after fireball Cambridge car crash

Your still photo is only moments before the crash , when the driver had already turned and may at that stage have been looking at the side road straight ahead. In the still below, the driver has their indicator on and has begun to turn into the side road, and I reckon that the bike is unsighted...

    New AIO SS Brew Tech.

You could go with a 32 amp commando socket with a dedicated supply or in Spain, I've seen 25 amp sockets and plugs for cookers

    Biden.

I've an American friend who's very much a democrat , he said to me a while back, "Its elder abuse " he reckons that they have the president boosted on amphetamines to make him seem sharper, it's hard to watch either way. They have a minimum age for president and judging by this president and...

Clean In Place (CIP) - Yes Please!

When I was studying brewing too many years ago now , they described a cleaning cycle as a cake divided into 4 slices. The four slices represented Time, Chemical strength, Heat and Mechanical action. If any of the slices get smaller then one or all of the other slices need to get larger to...

Is my stc1000 on its last legs?

Hopefully the new stc resolves the issue, if it doesn't then you know where to look next . What made me consider the starting relay was that the fridge had been responding to the stimulation of a size 11 boot previously 😄

Is my stc1000 on its last legs?

Usually if the starting relay is acting up , The compressor will feel very hot to touch, be careful not to burn your hand , there's an overload as part of the starting relay , which will operate if the compressor gets too hot , and won't let the fridge compressor operate until it cools down ...
