    Reducing from 3/8”

Hi! @Ghillie has given a very good explanation, and using a balancing calculator like the one he posted a link to, will help you get a good pour without excess foaming. On my system I used short "stubs" of 3/8 line to make the connections, then used JG reducers to connect 3/16 line of the...

Help Me Convince My Husband that NEED corny kegs

Hi! Two solutions: A - let her put the hoovers under the stairs, then put your keezer in the middle of the living room. B - tell her that you are the boss and things will be done your way. Either way, book an ambulance in advance beforehand - you'll need it.

    Reducing from 3/8”

Hi @haggis51 The 3/16 line offers more resistance, therefore you need a shorter length to balance the system. If the beer lines are too short the beer will be extremely "foamy".

    How much?

Hi @Crappyfish Again, not very helpful, but I have tried to squeeze every last drop out of the FV and ended up with lots of beer that needed a long time to clear and losses either in the pour from the bottle or serving from the keg because there was so much sediment. As @steve denholm has...

    Wilko oxi plus stain remover

Hi! Oxi cleaners like WizzOxi are much cheaper than PBW, so the lower concentration of sodium percarbonate is offset by the lower price. Oxi cleaners, including Brew Clean and PBW, are not no-rinse sanitisers; they are cleaners. They must be rinsed off before the application of a sanitising...

    CO2 Regulator Advice

Hi! Very nice - the price is good for a 4-way regulator. You could serve from 4 kegs and carb up a fifth with that setup.

    Purchasing bigger tubs of PBW?

Hi! I've never used it neat, but I use a couple of heaped tablespoons of Oxi cleaner to 5 litres of hot water. For heavy crud I might use an extra spoonful. It's cheap enough to be generous.

    CO2 Regulator Advice

Hi! These are the ones I bought - no problems with them at all. https://rlbs.ltd.uk/v3002g-secondary-reducing-regulator-with-pass-through-wall-mount-with-1-gauge.html

    Purchasing bigger tubs of PBW?

Hi @jayrussell Have you considered an Oxi-type cleaner? Astonish oxi cleaner from B&M is cheaper tham PBW and does the same job as long as you rinse well. https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/astonish-oxy-active-plus-2kg-340423 Some members use pure sodium percarbonate, the active ingredient...

Help Me Convince My Husband that NEED corny kegs

Hi @Deadhead Try telling him that you're giving up home brewing. How many pints can he buy with £60 (cost of your first CO2 bottle)? The real advantage, to me, was not worrying about sediment. Force carbing, even burst carbing, still requires some time for the beer to mature. I bought...

Kegerator Lines - Against The Grain...?

Hi! How about a keezer? I know the footprint is larger than a fridge, but it may be just what you need.

Kegerator Lines - Against The Grain...?

Hi! I could only fit two Cornies in a double-fronted pub bottle chiller - it has a big compressor hump!

    Polycarbonate Water Cooler Bottles

Hi! All of my fermenting buckets are Code 5 - polypropylene. You need to find out the rate of oxygen absorbtion for your plastic to make a judgement. It may be quite low.
