    Fermzilla 30L All rounder ?

I had krausen escape from my spunding valve when I made 27 litres of dunkelweisse, but wheat beers go off like a rocket. I might get another all rounder, I think pressure fermenting is brilliant. Turned around a Mexican lager in 8 days grain to glass, it's a game changer for things like that.

    Keezer, in through the hump?

I just drilled another hole in the collar - 100% not going to hit anything critical there plus it's a straight run to the manifold.

    Stupid Question!

Came here to say this. Here's a video of Dr Hans showing you how to put it together...

    Your house brew.

    1. Dry hopped SMaSH lager, pilsner malt and Mittelfruh 2. Kolsch 3. APA based on Sierra Nevada PA with Falconer's Flight hops I've always got 1 or more of these on tap

    APA

They're pretty decent posting this sort of thing :D https://sierranevada.com/blog/pale-ale-homebrew-recipe/ I use less crystal than they do because I think my ale malt is darker than their two row. I also don't use cascade, I use falconer's flight, but whatevs 🥳

    APA

FWIW, I use the grain bill that Sierra Nevada publish for their APA, just ale malt and 4% crystal 60.

    CML,

Great company to deal with, can rate them highly enough.

    Corny keg cleaning

I had to use a rattle gun to get the posts off of three kegs I bought from The Homebrew Company, there was no shifting them by hand.

    Corny keg cleaning

Can confirm. I made one from a pond pump and some JG connectors and other bits I had lying around.

    What's gone wrong here?

Is it light struck or oxidised?

    d-rest advice please

I don't check gravity during fermentation (lazy, I know). My normal lager schedule is 1 week at 12C, then raise the temp by 1 degree per day until it's at 18C, leave it for 3 days, then cold crash as cold as my fridge will get.

    Average Munich Helles

I'm far from an expert on water chemistry, but that looks a bit 'minerally'. Target water profiles are on Brewer's Friend here.. https://www.brewersfriend.com/brewing-water-target-profiles/ Also, PH is quite key it seems from my Googling on the subject. 5.3 seems to be the sweet spot before...

Sparging in an all in one system

Same. I've got a 50 litre Hopcat and I do full volume mashing. I hit my numbers with efficiency set to 70% on Brewer's Friend. I've never bothered to chase higher efficiency, I don't see the point at homebrew level.

    PVPP - anyone used it?

Well, I've thrown some in the keg. I'll hit it with Starbrite tomorrow then see how it is on Saturday 🤔

    PVPP - anyone used it?

I had some issues with the last lager I made, in that the crush was very floury and I had to mix the grain a lot to get it to drain properly then manually vorlouf to get the the pre boil gravity I was anticipating. By doing this I think I've extracted a lot of tannins as the finished beer is a...

    Blockages

I've never bothered with a bit of hose or a gasket - I just drop the barb straight into the pump inlet and *touches wood* I've never had a problem. The "filter" that came with the Hopcat (about 3cm long) just dropped in and would clog up about ten seconds into whirlpooling, it really was a...

    Blockages

I measured mine with calipers, 10mm fits in easily, no pliers required. I must have linked to the wrong size.
  18. HarryFlatters

    Blockages

I'm not entirely sure - I have a Hopcat which has a plate at the bottom of the malt pipe which I assume sits a bit higher up the kettle.

    Blockages

No such thing as a daft question :)
