    Maris otter

I order brew by brew and generally use that as an opportunity to try different brands as research for I when I eventually start to mill my own grain and buy n bulk. Think I’ve settled on fawcett for Maris Otter, Simpson’s for golden promise and weyerman or crisp for regular pale. Still trying to...

    World Cup. (SPOILER)

Put our marker down again. Wales were poor but they were despatched professionally. It’s an open competition and whilst France and Brazil may have the edge we are there with a few others not far behind them. Wales were poor again though.

    National Homebrew Competition

I was thinking of making a Dutch (white)wit bier based around one I had in Amsterdam recently. It tasted nothing like the perfumed Belgium Witt beers so I’m thinking it may have used a neutral yeast (similar I hear to The popular commercial Icelandic white ale) . However would this be down...

First goal was well taken by them. The second goal wasn’t a goal. That was a near perfect performance from england. They showed verve. Energy and great moment. Could have asked for more than that.

    Snub nose PRV leaking.

No lube but the dry drop fitting has a o ring. I think the leak is from the dry hop port around the prv. as it’s not air or water tight surely there will be oxygen sucked in if I cold crash?

    Snub nose PRV leaking.

I unboxed my Apollo snub nose for its first brew yesterday, and the red prv leaked when I tested it so I swapped it with the one from my junion King but that still wasn’t watertight ( was fine with FK) so it could be the Lid maybe or something I’ve done wrong. Anyway I had to use it as brew...

    Kegerator question

I’m going to build mine next week. Everything is ready to go. As I’ve got a spare inkbird I’ll use that to keep it at 8c which is my preferred carbing and serving temp. Mainly IPAs and Pales.

Over build starter or repitch trub

My only concern last time I repitched some saved slurry ( about 4 weeks old, kept in fridge in mason jar ) it was a dumper!

Over build starter or repitch trub

Good idea. So I just harvest a once. A pint on brew 1, use half straight away on brew 2 and the other half a couple of weeks later On brew 3. Maybe making a starter for the second one.

Over build starter or repitch trub

It’s been a whIle since I’ve considered reusing yeast after getting an infection Ire-using trub last time, but as I’m planning 3 consecutive brews using Wyeast ESB I thought I should revisit it I’ve only the ability to make 1 litre or maybe 1.25 litre starters so not sure I can over build...
