Anyone used the 5L Mini Growlr kegs?

Looking at the little 5L growlr kegs they look ideal for low volume brewing so i can play around with all grain brewing without a large investment...

How long will my beer last in kegs?

Hi everyone as some of you probably already know I’m very new to beer brewing having brewed wine for many of years. I picked up some second hand kit including 4 x 19l corny kegs and some other bits. I’m in the process of converting a fridge now. One thing I didn’t even think of is shelf life...

Can I pressure carbonate 4 kegs from one co2 bottle? Plus some temperature questions

I completely understand your points regarding carbonation. And I’m more than willing to carbonate each keg separately. If I was to individually carbonate each keg do you think the setup above would work with the manifold? Serving all 3 beers at the same PSI with the valve on the manifold...

Can I pressure carbonate 4 kegs from one co2 bottle? Plus some temperature questions

Wouldn’t I simply be able to close the valves on the manifold for everything but the white wine line when I wanted to serve it at a different PSI than the beer? Or do I have the wrong idea here. As said honestly I’m still very new to this.

Can I pressure carbonate 4 kegs from one co2 bottle? Plus some temperature questions

Could you tell me what a flying hose is? @MashBag Is there any reason why i couldn't serve from 3 kegs at the same time using the one regulator and the manifold to connect all the kegs to the one regulator? Assuming i wanted to serve them all at the same pressure, would this really be an...

Can I pressure carbonate 4 kegs from one co2 bottle? Plus some temperature questions

Can I just ask why I need a separate regulator for each keg if I want to serve them all at the same PSI? What would happen if I was to hook 3 kegs up to the manifold, carb them all at the same psi and then serve them the same way? Possibly turning the co2 off when not serving to preserve the...

Can I pressure carbonate 4 kegs from one co2 bottle? Plus some temperature questions

Hey guys Been brewing wine for years but finally getting into beer and kegging. Picked up 4 x 19l corny kegs, a regulator and a 4 way manifold to connect one gas canister to all 4 kegs using the one regulator. The first 3 kegs will be beer and the last keg will be a sparking white wine. My...

Serious starting gravity problem 140!! Blackberry wine

I’ve checked the gravity again today and it’s showing as 1.085. Very strange indeed!!

Serious starting gravity problem 140!! Blackberry wine

I know what you mean but check out this screenshot from a sugar wash calculation. There’s no way that 5kg of blackberries contains 2.69kg of sugar?

Serious starting gravity problem 140!! Blackberry wine

Hi guys Put on my first batch of blackberry wine today and it’s a 23 litre batch. Picked these blackberries myself from local spots. My problem is that I just taken my starting gravity (about 4 hours after fermentation started) and it’s COMPLETELY off the charts for my hydrometer! It appears...

Need some general help on making blackberry wine Inc quantities

Hi all Been doing lots of picking locally so it's time to start looking at making my blackberry wine. Need to get it done soon as !y freezer is jam packed with blackberries! My first question would be quantities.. how many kilogram of blackberries do I need per 5 gallon batch? I've seen...

Are 6 bottle wine kits worth it?

Honestly it probably has nothing to do with the use of stabilisers and finnings or not. You probably got such a nice wine this time around because you left the wine so long to ferment and mature on the sediment. I remember when I brewed up two Winexpert Enigmas. One of them I bottled within a...

The range wine kits all out of stock??

Been to 5 different stores today searching for the white wine kits and none available. Checked online and none available for delivery either. More concerning all the range stores that I visited had a fractured stock of home brew. None of them had the full range in stock. Are the range kits...

Anyone tried blending cheap and expensive wine kits together?

Just thought this idea up a few days ago. Say you brewed up a MYO range white wine kit and in a separate fermenter brewed a winexpert classic pinot grigio. Then after both wines are cleared and stabilised, mixing them together 50/50. Not sure if it's even worth it considering I've been...

Cheapest full bodied red wine kits?

I did notice the Beaverdales Rojo Tinto was recently back in stock at my usual HBS. Out of the Beaverdales I haven't actually tried this one! It's always great when a wine matures and tastes so much better after a year. To be fair, most wine kits do good with at least a year of aging. Would you...

Cheapest full bodied red wine kits?

Just curious, what do you guys think are the cheapest full bodied red wine kits? Cellar 7s and Beaverdales sadly don't even come close in my opinion. On the house kits are very very close. But the cheapest full bodied red kits that I've found so far are the Winexpert classic kits for around...

Mangrove Jack's PINK GRAPEFRUIT IPA Low SG?

Yes gravity was taken before yeast pitch and everything was shaken thoroughly (not stirred) as it's in a carboy (demijohn). The only thing I done different was added the kit to warm water when the kit said it should be boiling water. I used warm water as the fermenter is made of PET and not...

Mangrove Jack's PINK GRAPEFRUIT IPA Low SG?

Thank you. 1.039 finishing at 1.010 is literally 3.39% abv.. very low compared to 5.7% 😐 Hence I need about 500g of sugar added which should give about another 1.3% at 23 litres.

Mangrove Jack's PINK GRAPEFRUIT IPA Low SG?

Started a kit brew the other day, the mangrove Jack's pink grapefruit IPA. This kit should finish on 5.7% abv. I started the brew at 18 litres as I didn't want the fermenter to foam over. At 18 litres the SG is only 1.050?? From my estimation that's about 5.7% abv. But I still need to top the...
