    Ignore, can't delete

No good will come of this thread. I tried ignoring SWMBO when she said I picked the wrong hobby and I have the scars to prove it!

    Morning from Somerset

There are several premium IPA kits : Muntons Flagship Hazy or West Coast IPA, Young's American IPA, Evil Dog DIPA or Festival Razorback. The list goes on.I like the American style kits myself. Can be tinkered with by changing the dry hops (Evil Dog with Mosiac instead of the kit hops for...

When to bottle up latest brew?

I should also have said, the bottles should be kept in the dark. The only time your beer should see daylight is the brief interval between going into a glass and over yir thrapple.

When to bottle up latest brew?

Carbonation is just a secondary fermentation in the bottles so it does need to be around the same temp as the main fermentation. The yeast gobbles up the sugar you added and makes CO2 and a wee bit more alcohol then goes back to sleep. Allow 2 weeks for this stage then move the bottles somewhere...

    Muntons Flagship Hazy IPA

Did exactly the same last time I did this kit. It does come out a bit thin with the extra 3 ltrs but otherwise fine.

Newbie question before I start my first brew kit

2nd FV will come in handy for batch priming prior to bottling. I know it's extra time for exposure to air but it saves the phaff of having to dose each bottle.

Muntons West Coast IPA - progress and questions

Did you add the hop pellets loose? I use a stainless steel mesh hop can which helps keep the brew clean.

    Brewing kits

I can thoroughly recommend Munton's premium kits. Their West Coast IPA is consistently good. Also Bulldog's Evil Dog IPA. My all time favourite was MJ's Citra single hop IPA but sadly that's not available anymore. I've done a few MJ kits but I've been disappointed with the last 2 or 3. They...

    Have I messed up?

I did almost the same with a Munton's West Coast IPA kit. Filled to 23L instead of 20L by accident so I added around 300G sugar to bring up the ABV The result is a wee bit thin in mouthfeel but still tasty.
