Kegerator Gas Supply - on or off?

I should point out that when I put a new keg on I fast carb and disconnect. then once the keg is at the desired carbonation I put on an inline regulator.

Kegerator Gas Supply - on or off?

Nope.....it’ll reach equilibrium dependent on temp/pressure. You should use a carbonation chart to work that out to set to the co2 volumes for the style

Kegerator Gas Supply - on or off?

I usually turn mine off or shut my manifold lever. I also tend to only turn it back on after dispensing a few pints as it doesn’t make much difference to pressures. I’ve experienced keg seal leaks a couple of times but not with pipe work.

    Rento’s Brew.....evening!

I‘ve only done a few all grain (BIAB) after years of messing with kits, but thought I’d share my setup and fast 3 hour brew day as it’s my 2nd batch of a fab cascade pale ale.....my wife and neighbours forced me to do another batch! 10l batch 2kg Maris otter pale 200g Crystal 70 20g Cascade at...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

I was looking for cheap 2/3 pint glasses and came across them in ikea. My wife approved so in the trolley they went!

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Cascade Pale ale all grain mashup......a touch more bittering required next time but lovely all the same.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Discovered half a dozen bottles of Breweferm Orangje Bock I made about 7 year ago when looking out some empty grolsch bottles so had to crack one open......it’s still great!

Stout tap and mixed (pub gas)- worth it?

It’s worth it! I love the texture you get and for me it improves any dark ale as well as stout. The cascade I can take or leave, it’s the creamy head that gets me every time!

When to add the wort chiller?

Hi, I’ve been playing around with my setup as I want to reduce steam venting in my garage. I recently rigged up a DIY extractor out of a bathroom shower vent which works great, but I’ve had to make the canopy tight to the top of the kettle. This makes it a PIA to put the wort chiller in at the...

    CO2 regulator

I should also say that’s my second Chinese one as the first leaked after a few months!

    CO2 regulator

I’ve got one of the cheap Chinese regs which I thought was pretty good....until I received an Italian ODL premium reg from BKT. Yes it was double the price but it’s so much better quality and in my opinion well worth the extra. The control over pressure is so much more exact and you can turn up...

    N2/CO2 Stout - setup

Hi, I’m looking for advice from those who have an N2/CO2 setup for their stouts. How have you got it setup? I’ve been playing around but I’m interested in those who have tried and tested process and setup! My main questions are: How do you carb your stout? I.e fast, let it sit, pressures...

    Keg priming

I’ve not been able to use the spreadsheet as not on my laptop, but I’ve been looking at online calcs too. so tomorrow most likely I’m kegging a 9litre batch of US pale ale and want to carb to 2.5 volumes. I’ve looked at some online calcs and books I have and it appears that priming for bottles...

    Keg priming

Some example pours! I like a creamy head! Thats using my stout spout, but with a normal tap its more bubbly! The suremix is what my brother used in his restaurant to server Menabrea lager and I find very versatile.

    Keg priming

Suremix 60, 60/40. I’m a tight ar£& and a scared of loosing gas so I pressurise to 30 psi, disconnect and leave for a couple of weeks, maybe top up once in between. I then serve at around 12-15 psi, topping up every 5 or 6 pints. It’s worked great for me, done maybe 10 kegs this way. Note I...

    Keg priming

Thanks, I think I’ll try this with my next keg as an experiment. I use beer gas so I’m interested to see what happens from start of keg to the end.

    Keg priming

Am I correct in thinking that the carbonation level left after fermenting is only relevant if you are fermenting under pressure? Surely if you are fermenting in a bucket then there is no residual co2 in the beer?

4 pints in..... Cooper Irish Stout served on mixed gas....lovely!

How many kegs do you own

of course not........which is why I’m drinking and enjoying a 2 week post kegging stout! I need to convince myself of the need somehow!😆

How many kegs do you own

3 19l and 2 10l to mix things up.....only running 3 taps though! I’ll hopefully have them all filled soon so I can leave to dark beers and stouts to properly mature!
