    Raspberry stout/porter

Raspberries are killer in a stout, but just remember they're quite tart. I would brew a chocolate milk stout for some sweetness to balance it, then re-ferment it on the raspberries. Go with 4ish kilos in a 20L batch and you'll be golden. Use a hop bag/nylon bag or similar to prevent the fruit...

    Long beer line problem

I would say it's most likely a temperature issue. CO2 will escape very quickly in a long length of line at ambient temp. 3/8 line has hardly any resistance to stop the beer fobbing. Based on 15PSI and 3/8" line, you would need about 104m of line. If you can drop the temp significantly, you can...

    Pumps for Home Brew

Yuck, that's what I was afraid of. I have a spare 24V supply, would that work, or be too high?

    HomeBrew Club: Glasgow

I am also in Renfrew... Didn't think there was anyone else from around here. Perhaps some bottle swaps could be in order?

    HomeBrew Club: Glasgow

Couple of my best mates were GMs there for a few years (I used to live in Edinburgh.)

    Pumps for Home Brew

I have bought one of these. What's the cheapest 12V power supply to power it? Can i modify something i will have lying about the house such as a USB phone charger?

    Beer Engine Sanitation at Home

Yep, at the very least pull through a pint or so - whatever is in the line - and discard before pulling a fresh pint for drinking.

    NEIPA grain bill

I'll accept that. What I don't think is right is blanket advising someone "at least 14g/L dry hop" with no reason not justification.

    NEIPA grain bill

It's a really nice yeast. Takes a few days to get going, but leaves a nice stable haze and some nice citrusy esters.

    NEIPA grain bill

Yep. There's nothing bad going to happen to the beer from exceeding that amount, but you're effectively wasting your money at that point.

    NEIPA grain bill

Boil and whirlpool hops here are not the issue. 8g/L saturation is purely for dry hopping.
  16. thegrantickle

    NEIPA grain bill

Apart from the saturation point of dry hopping is 8g/L.

Wheat Beer over powering clove taste

    I'd agree with that, too.

Wheat Beer over powering clove taste

I would have pitched 3/4 of a pack in 20L, so maybe 1/2 a pack in 15L. Underpitching stresses the yeast during the growth phase which will produce more esters such as banana and bubblegum.
