    First brew fermenting with Fermentasaurus

As usual you chime in with absolutes, as of there is only way to do something, rather than giving your opinion. You are incorrect. Fermentation under pressure is not solely for carbonation purposes. Yeast does not necessarily "perform better" under 1 atmosphere. What do you mean by better in...

Scottish craft brewers home brew competition

All the best to everyone who has entered. I am judging 2 different tables this year, but I won't mention which to keep it as blind as possible.

    recommendation for kegerator

I have searched far and wide and no - no under counters that will fit 4. There was one that I did see that would fit 3 of the new, slimline cornys at a push. For 3+ kegs the best option I have found is a tall larder fridge which will easily for 3-4, or a chest freezer as you have described. The...

    Hefeweizen - cask conditioned

Possible - yes. A good idea - no. Heffe is conditioned at circa 3 vols co2, as the high carbonation massively aids the banana and clove aromas which dominate the style. Serving via cask would see about 1-1.2vols of co2 and this would severely mute the desired characteristics for the style...

    When to bin hops

Never bin them! Put them in a brown paper bag and leave out to air, dry and age. Keep them like that for at least 18 months then you can use them as aged hops in Belgian ales! Whole cones work best but pellets will work well too!

Can this tap be connected to a ball lock disconnect?

That's a specific tap for the dispenser that you linked to. The kind of spear sticking out the rear end is the flow control part, which in this case is then enclosed by the SS "beer line" part. In other flow control taps, there is another part which surrounds said spear, onto which you can then...
