    flippin raging I am

Check every connection by either immersing it in water (don't immerse regulators in water) or by using a spray of soapy water and look for bubbles forming. Also why do you need the keg pressured to 40 psi, seems high for any sort of beer, but you would do that for sparkling water.

I use a bottle tree which is similar: https://www.lovebrewing.co.uk/80-bottle-drying-tree/

What would a £40m Greene King brewery mean for a town?

It's not like they're shifting operations to another part of the country (or even the world), it's just a couple of miles away. Seems like a good idea to me, it should create more jobs in the near term while it's being built and hopefully preserve the jobs of the majority of those who work in...

Challenges facing the UK cider industry

Unfortunately it's one of those fad things that has probably lead to this. I suspect when everyone was drinking that Magners cr*p, with ice in it 🥺, demand leapt and the big beer businesses decided they wanted a bit of the action buying up firms like Bulmers, who incidentally did once make some...

St Peters Honey Porter Kit Additional Hops

IMHO with regards to that kit I think the old saying applies "you can't polish a turd (but you can roll it in glitter)". Not sure any amount of extra hops is going to mask the artificial honey taste you describe and that also puts that kit on my "done it once, never again" list. From what I...

Been shafted by my previous CO2 supplier...

J Just to add to the above, the cylinder I have now was supplied to me by a Hobbybrew Agent: https://hobbybrew.co.uk/ Therefore my agreement I have is with them and not the agent themselves so I can take it take to any of their agents along with the paperwork I have and hopefully get my...

Been shafted by my previous CO2 supplier...

When I first put my kegerator together I found an Adams gas supplier local to work, paid my deposit and got a cylinder of CO2, all good. Fast forward having been through a few cylinders and suddenly they don't have stock anymore, can't make any promises as to when they will, and the next...

    Home Bar Help😊

Most of us just tend to convert fridges (AKA Kegerator) or freezers (AKA Keezer) to hold kegs, gas and have all the pipes, fittings, taps and so on to serve draught beer. Flash chillers are expensive in comparison. There might be someone on here with experience of them though.

Does beer in a pressure barrel improve?

Yes, beer will "condition" in a keg just the same as it will in a bottle. Just make sure it stays pressurised and the CO2 will keep it safe from oxidisation and any other nasties. How long to leave it really depends on the beer style. For me I find modern hop driven American style IPAs, pale...

    Electric cars.

Ahh, that old chestnut. You do know that the pickup for the fuel pump is located right at the bottom of the tank where all the supposed "crud" is sloshing about. There's little to no debris in the fuel out of the forecourt pumps and cars have fuel filters anyway just in case and these are...

    Digital thermometer recommendation

I have the basic Thermapen. Doesn't just get used for brewing though, I use it often for barbecuing, cooking steaks, checking the Sunday roast doneness, and a fair few other cooking duties. Worth it for that alone.

    Kit Cider

Admittedly I've only done one cider kit but found it underwhelming and artificial. Much prefer turbo cider from supermarket apple juice.

    Yeast on sides of bottles

I've noticed that on some of mine. I can only think that some sort of residue that was in there from a previous brew has made glass a bit more sticky for the sediment. To be honest though whenever I've poured them it has made little difference to the final clarity of the beer but I really...

    Best Golden Ale kit

Festival Golden Stag or Summer Glory, one comes with elderflowers which I like but my not be everyone's taste, can't remember which. Woodforde's Bure Gold is also nice.

    Tea.

We have Yorkshire at work and it makes a decent brew IMHO (who knew they could grow tea in Yorkshire, climate change eh 😉) At home I just have supermarket own brand, usually Lidl after they built one half a mile from us, though not the cheapest in the range.

    Food Hacks / Pimps

Add a few chunks of high cocoa dark chocolate to a chilli at the end of a cook, really makes it. Also depending on what it is it can always be made even better with the addition of butter/bacon/sugar though that's probably why these things are bad for you waist line 😁

    Food Hacks / Pimps

Better if you get hold of some Tahini as that is what hummus is usually made with although it is quite similar to peanut butter. Jamie Oliver says to use Vermouth in his risotto recipes 👍

ANGEL HOMEBREW - KegLand 20L Oxebar PET Keg and Pressure Fermenter Tank. Also 4L & 8L Kegs

Think carefully about this. You will only be able to take this in a checked in bag (i.e. goes in the hold). Now with the reduced air pressure on a plane I think that will cause some / all of the CO2 in the beer to come out of suspension and will pressurise the bottle. It could then possibly...

    Brupak Colne Valley Bitter

Been ages since I've made a Brupak's kit but always had good results from them. Hope the quality hasn't gone down.

    smart meters

I don't have smart meters (yet). My biggest concern is that my electric meter is in our under stairs cupboard. In there is also my mesh WIFI6E router, a Zigbee hub for Philips Hue, and a Raspberry PI running a second Zigbee network for general home automation stuff. As I understand it the...
