    Crossmyloof

I was actually replying to your post where you posed the question about people not reporting posts. You have answered my question that posts don't need to be offensive to be moderated - thank you but no need to be snippy

    Crossmyloof

The reason that I don't report these type of posts is that they are not offensive per se and therefore there is nothing to report. They are merely argumentative amongst the usual suspects which detracts from the purpose of the thread. If everyone reported posts they disagreed with, I'm sure...

    Ultra processed food

I partly agree and partly disagree with this. Yes, there are more families with 2 earners now... But, more people manage to spend hours in the gym than ever before (so make time for exercise) and more people now work from home so have no commute. If they thought that cooking from scratch was...

    Ultra processed food

It's not just the food, it's laziness as well. Some people can't be bothered to cook from scratch; it's sooo much easier to put a ready meal in the microwave. And now, you can have a takeaway delivered to your door so you have to do even less work before stuffing your face. I remember a Jamie...

    England manager poll

The FA should pay whatever it takes to persuade Klopp but they won't. It would make sense to promote Carsley from the u21s as this follows the vision Southgate and Ashworth set up following their review in 2011 (?) but that is exactly why the FA won't do it. We will probably end up with...

May be because it has some coriander in it? :confused.:

    Fury vs Usyk.

I want Usyk to win but I think Fury will. I don't expect it to be a classic with Fury leaning and hugging to wear Usyk out.

    Hop bag floating on top.

Perhaps tap the fv on the side? That might encourage it to drop as it breaks the solid mass on the surface. Or give the fv a gentle swirl but make sure not to slop the wort as that could allow oxygen into it.

[Poll added 15 November] Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

He has to say that to promote it. He's not likely to say "it's an exhibition fight and he won't let me punch him" otherwise no one will pay for the ppv. It's all about the grift with the Paul brothers

[Poll added 15 November] Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

Jake Paul won't let anyone knock him out, it's in his contracts (or it was in earlier ones). I was hoping that Tyson would put an end to this ridiculous influencer boxing thing. They fleece their followers into paying for a ppv, thinking they are watching genuine sport.

[Poll added 15 November] Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

Apparently it's now classed as an exhibition match

Ha! The censored word is crop but with an 'a' ashock1

    Hop bag floating on top.

I use a normal plastic bucket with lid. I never use an airlock, just clip the lid on fully then loosen/lift up about 1/4 of the lid. That way, I don't have to worry about liquid in the airlock being sucked back in. I use hop pellets and throw them loose into the fv when dry hopping. I've never...

    Hop bag floating on top.

If you aren't using a fermentation fridge but want to cold crash - I just leave my fv on the concrete garage floor overnight. Seems to do the job, as everything drops to the bottom

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

I agree, the price point that supermarkets want to sell at forces the breweries to cut back on hops etc - Brewdog have sold their souls to go down this route to maximise sales to the detriment of their beers. I haven't had an exceptional new Brewdog beer for a long time. Some of their older...

Is the Homebrew hobby in decline?

This!! I remember that all the online retailers were running short of kits during the first lockdown. I suspect all the new brewers from that period stopped as soon as they could go back to the pub. Also, the younger generations don't drink anywhere near as much as I did when it was a normal...

    Cheap 5l mini kegs

I think the problem with these kegs is the inner liner. If you rinse them with boiling water, the lining disintegrates which leads to the metallic taste. The lining probably wears out over time and repeated rinsing with anything above lukewarm water seems to reduce their life.
