    just what is the average amount of hops used to dry hop?

    Without getting answers like its totally your choice how hoppy you like it I am just looking for the average amount of hops would you say would be added to dry hop 40 pint batches? I do like my beers a bit hoppy and tangy. I only make extract beer and only dry hop.

I boiled 6 pints of water and mixed with the 1.7kg extract and 1kg sugar as I always do and topped up to 40 pints with cold water. I dont usually take temp as it always seems to work out just fine.     I have heard you can buy a product that converts a s30 valve into one suitable for 8grm bulbs......however is it true that you can only do this with the stainless steel version and not the brass?.

    OK to add treacle to Stout just before bottling?

    excuse my ignorance but what ratios would u estimate I'll need to use to properly add to taste and prime 40pints.. I do enjoy treacle and wouldnt mind a stronge taste. The tin is 454g of lyles black treacle. So how much sugar would I also need to add if I used half the tin or the full tin?

    I had a bit of a problem ABV wise as the OG was only 1070 and finished at 1000 which I think is around 10% I added (as advised on here) 400g sugar water mixture to 5 gallons to try get the alcohol a bit higher. Whether it has or hasn't I dont know...........But I dont think a shed goes to those...
