    Resizing batches

Oh yeah.... The icon that looks like a scale. Der..... :laugh8: Why haven't I noticed that before?

What model of fridge is that @Rodcx500z ?

    Resizing batches

I target 20L in the FV which gives me a full cornie with perhaps a little too much waste, I should probably bottle a couple but hat it so much I don't. In brewfather, you just scale the recipe. I know there are thoughts that scaling from, say, 23L to a 6 barrel brew length is a bit more...

    Crossmyloof

Yay! Hopefully the new owners will continue in a similar vein and we will all be happy. Long live the Beoir + House combo 😁

    Steel weight for dry hopping

Same here. Chuck them in loose. Although, I don't actually dry hop any more, it's all hop stands for me.

    Pseudo lager yeast

CML Kolsch yeast. Cheap. I've had great results.

    Crossmyloof

I'm genuinely at a loss as to where to go next. I'm sorted for suppliers of base and most speciality malts, and *some* hops, but for my yeast and other hops I just have no idea where to shop.

    Anna's Brewdays

What do you use for the caustic wash? (I have a feeling I'm going to look like an ***** here when you say "er, caustic soda?" but I thought I'd ask :laugh8:

    Typical Brew Day?

If I start at 9ish I'm done by 3ish. I know this because I used to fit it around the school run when the kids were younger.

    Brewdog miss a marketing opportunity.

Wasnt having a dig at you @The Baron . Had a day at work dealing with "Personell issues". Am in a grump (And I cannot abide that Melissa Cole I'm afraid)

    Brewdog miss a marketing opportunity.

Hang on, hang on.. I'm not one to shy away from criticising Brewdog, but in this case this was an internal email to staff, which someone has leaked to the press. And as for "Beer industry expert" Clarisa Moles opinion criticising it's tone - they are niether a industry expert or someone who...

    Distillers malt

I'd be tempted to use it in a historical recipe instead of 6 row, to emulate it's high enzymes

    Crossmyloof

This is awful news. I get all my specialty malts from them, all my yeast and most of my hops. Time to bulk buy their house, Beior and Kolsch yeasts.:mad:asad.asad1

    Coopers lager not fermenting.

Can I just check, is this the Coopers lager kit or the Coopers European lager kit? It's just the former ships with a ale yeast, whereas the latter with an actual lager yeast. If its tye latter, it would happily ferment at 12°c and may not yet be finished.

    No rinse no foam sanitisers

Idophor sanitizer is fairly common in the brewing and dairy industries.

    No rinse no foam sanitisers

Videne. No rinse, doesn't foam. Cheap enough given the dilution ratios.

Hop basket or bag, which to use?

I just chuck mine in the boiler, loose. I do have a bazooka filter on the ball valve tap, but most of the debris sinks below the tap level anyway after cooling. I'm not a big dry hopper, preferring hop stands, but if I do they just get chucked in as well, and I let the gelatine sort it all out...

    Fridge for two cornies

I haven't brewed anything for six months as I've been building a pub and outside kitchen in the back garden, which is nearly finished. I'm at the fitting it out stage, so need a fridge to hold two cornies. What can people recommend? Planning to buy new. Appreciate this gets asked a lot, but...

Open Fermentation and/or Different Fermenter Geometry.

Great link, thanks @Sadfield . Lots of things to ponder there.
