    Unnecessary journeys

Well, many years ago we used to live in Haworth, W Yorks (yes Bronte country) but I worked in Bradford One day I saw an evening coach trip from Bradford to a mystery location and booked a couple of seats, for my wife and I So I finished work early and travelled from Bradford to Haworth to pick...

    Maris otter

My view is that there are so many other factors that will affect your final beer (e.g. mash temp, hop utilisation, water profile, yeast strain, fermentation temperature, the colour of your underpants) that the fine detail of how one malster processes it vs another is a bit of an acedemic...

Belgian tripel using pale ale malt?

The major factor in Belgian Ales is Belgian yeast It creates the distinctive Belgian flavour much more so than the base malts you use Make sure you choose the right yeast

    Cost of Home Brewing

Agree grain prices are bound to go higher next year, we guestimate at least 33% higher However, as kits are made from these same grains, the price of kits can only be expected to rise as well. One of the biggest cost pressures is energy costs, as it takes more energy to produce a kit than just...

The next Malt buy by the South Cheshire Co-operative

By way of an update, we do need to change the rules for the next group buy So far we have said that we will leave orders open until 11th December, however, we are already up to 87 X 25kg bags - so when we reach 120 sacks (i.e. 3 pallets, 3 tonnes) we will need to close the order, so basically...
