What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Supping a couple of halves of SAISON in the dark. It's been a long day fitting and hanging new doors upstairs (with an interlude for the England match). Whoever built our house didn't know how to use a square or a tape measure, so I've sweated buckets in today's heat planing doors so that...

Serving temperature for kegs at party

Doesn't that depend on length and diameter of beer line connecting the party tap? If you take a 3m length of 3/16" beer line to connect the beer out disconnect to the party tap, there should be no problem. 1l tonic bottles FTW! Enough for a couple of glasses without losing fizz, plus nicely...

    Euro 2020, who's watching?

Just heard about this. That sounds terrible. Footballers are monitored for their health and fitness almost around the clock these days, yet still so worrying that fit players can be vulnerable to heart failure, if that's what it is.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Matching sky and can. How very 'lah-de-dah"! Looks great.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Best things come to those who wait, so the saying goes.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

A great style to try if you don't have temperature control or not sure about yeast pitching rates and the like for lagers, is a Kölsch. The Crossmyloof Kölsch yeast is pretty forgiving and makes a great tasting light ale that, if you can wait long enough, can be stored cold and becomes more...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

It has turned out to be a cracking afternoon in the North West of England, sky is blue and cloudless. After getting a brew on this morning and hanging a door this afternoon, it would be rude not to make the most of the day. First taste of the Bohemian Lager, only a few days in the keg but it's...

    What did you brew today?

Safely averted boil over by spooning off hot break. Added a tablespoon of Voss slurry and it was bubbling away at 33degC half an hour later 🤯

    What did you brew today?

Ha ha! I've had that tune in my head since I brewed this morning 🤣

    What did you brew today?

26L of a woodsy, piney, orangey Amber ale fermented with Voss. It's a twist on my recent "Wild Thing" recipe I'm going to call "Wildwood". Original, eh? athumb.. Somehow lost a few points on OG which may be due to me upping water while locking ingredients in Brewer's Friend app and not...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Brilliant! What a great story. So, you know what you're getting into and looking forward to rekindling the adventures. Hats off to you! There are so many haters of caravanning and camping (we took our kids camping in Yorkshire for a week when they were still potty training, that was an...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Have you caravanned before? My family - parents and grandparents - were always caravanning. I hadn't been in a caravan since I was 16 until SWMBO and I bought one a few years ago. That first weekend away sitting in the caravan with a coffee watching the world go by was like coming home after...

    Euro 2020, who's watching?

I'm not overly fussed about football. Take it or leave it. I mostly can't see why supporters become so invested in the success of 11 players running around a square of grass and kicking a sack. It's the nation Vs nation element that's most compelling. I know it shouldn't be, because borders are...

    Euro 2020, who's watching?

    Yep, Italy deserved that.

    Euro 2020, who's watching?

Turkey only started closing Italy down since they were 2 goals down. No good, now three goals to Italy! Italy have played well. I'd hate to see how England would play against Italy.

    Euro 2020, who's watching?

Not a great deal of discipline, but they're up for it - a different Italy to years gone by. They actually look happy to be on the pitch today.

    That London Porter

It's not that it wasn't good, the yeast didn't lend much. I used that yeast in three beers, two of them dark. It seemed a healthy but somewhat clean strain even when fermenting over 20degC. Maybe a bit like Thames Valley? I almost bought a bottle of Fuller's yesterday to culture up. I think...

Turks passing, passing, passing. Italy looking spicy when they get going.

    Euro 2020, who's watching?

Just settled down to watch the opening match of the 2020 (2021) tournament. I'm not a huge football fan but I do like a good international comp. Ideal accompaniment to a good beer acheers.
