    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

First brew bubbling away nicely and purging a keg of StarSan. The 12mm ply shelf I made with a cut out to operated the dump valve and mount the flex chamber was too flimsy so have used a couple of floor boards for now. Will cut a new shelf from 18mm ply instead or put some legs on the 12mm one...

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

I think it was a YouTube video interview with the guy who does all the Keg King promos, though it could have just been a dream!

    No rinse sanitizers

Me too, I tend to get around 40l when I go to Spotless for about £1.60, generally use 20-30l in a brew to dilute my tap water and the rest either to make up a new batch of sanitiser or to use with percarbonate to clean out my G40, then I don't get any chalky deposits. The other thing I usually...

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

There is rumour of Keg King doing an SS lid with a trim-clamp port in. I've added a 1.5" butterfly valve and a 1.5" - 2" triclamp adapter to the bottom of mine so can now stick a flex chamber on, can dry hop that way as well as collecting yeast easily and bubble CO2 to rouse. There's a pic of...

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

Mine fits nicely in the larder fridge, I can attach the Brewbuilt collection jar when it is in the fridge, saves a little on height and can use it for dry hopping, trub collection and bubbling CO2 through to rouse hops or yeast.

Equipment For Sale Ultra Tap Twist x2

Do these fit on nukatap shanks or do they need Ultratap specific ones?

    UK National Homebrew Competition 2024

Mine scored 33 with similar comments, I think there’s a tendency for judges to now expect NEIPA levels of hop aroma in both Hazy IPA and AIPA categories, leaves little space for a more traditional West Coast IPA.

Im all a quiver with excitement - BZ gen 4 delivered

I spent all of my last mash measuring the grain bed temp with a glass thermometer and a couple of electronic ones to see if the temp displayed on the G40 was accurate or not, it was within 0.5C of the displayed temp for the entire mash. It also kept to within 0.5C of the target temp except for...

So he's not paid or employed by KegLand but he gets the review unit for free, something he says at the beginning of each review, like a lot of the other Brewtubers...

Im all a quiver with excitement - BZ gen 4 delivered

I’ve stopped using the strike temp calc for my G40, it usually set the temp 2C over intended mash temp, as the G40 is maintaining that temp until you move forward to the mash step then, after doughing in, it was usually still at strike temp and hadn’t dropped at all. I now just dough in at mash...

How about a nice pink colour for the Gamon line?

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

I've got a butterfly valve and some 1.5" gaskets/clamps on order from AliExpress, along with a 1.5-2" TC adapter. I plan to get the BrewBuilt/Kegland TC collection vessel and connect that up to the dump port.

    First brew with Brewzilla G4

Yep, same with my G40. Makes having a multi-step mash a breeze.

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

I looked at the miniUni but the base model is £538 now (for the jacketed Uni+, not sure the plain Uni is still available anywhere), then you need to add the legs for £35, the handles for £38 and a 4" pressure lid for around £40... And it's an awkward tall/narrow shape. Also looked at the...

    'Apollo' Stainless Steel

Just bought one... £385, not sure you'd even get a used 30l stainless pressure capable fermenter for that price!

    First brew with Brewzilla G4

If you don’t like the timers in the RAPT system you could use the brew session in Brewfather instead and manually control the G4.

There is nothing like a silly question, or so they say!

Buy the latest edition of ‘how to brew’ by John Palmer, I think it’s the fourth edition. . A lot of the questions you’re going to have are answered in there.

    Scottish National Homebrew Competition 2024

I just use collect plus or parcel 2 go and select the up to 5kg option. Evri next day came out cheapest at £7ish to send my 6 PET 500ml bottles. Evri use those drop-off units and there’s one across the road from me so simplest to use them. Hopefully being delivered today.
