    Tri clamp sizing help needed

Hi all. Looking for some advice with Triclamp sizing. I am looking to buy some stainless pipe from Ali express to add to my brew setup, only issue is my kit uses 34mm Tri clamp and I cannot seem to find this size anywhere. Only sizes I can find which are close are as in link closest is 32mm, or...

Are you really happy with your ale ? Really happy ?

I didnt read through all the posts above but didnt see any mention of oxidation. You seem to be brewing a lot of hoppy beers which are the worst offenders. Are you noticing the beers turning a darker brown very quickly after kegging? As Redgrave says above - cut transferring to secondary, there...

    Fermenting foods

Looks good, definitely going to try that, will do the same 1 with chili and 1 without since my wife is allergic to chilis.

    Co2

Hobbyweld / hobbeybrew have a lot of locations. Not the cheapest but if convenient it's probably worth the £10 extra per year it ends up costing

    Fermenting foods

I guess the main way is replacing beer with vegetables! Fermented foods are supposed to be very healthy due to the probiotics so great for gut health which also improves digestion. Weight loss (rather than just general health) comes down to almost purely the difference in calories burned and...

    Fermenting foods

How many here are into fermenting foods? My new year resolution was to lose 20kg before July (family holiday) so Ive cut way back on the beers and got into eating healthy food. Ive actually already beaten my 20kg target but decided to go for 28kg as this takes me to my "ideal weight" according...

    Other hobbies

I lived in Gran Canaria for 5 years - amazing island, hope to retire there some day. Its a popular place for cyclists but you must be mad!! some of the roads there are crazy, bet they are fun to come down but on a hot day it must be seriously hard work going up, even if it is a lot cooler in the...

    Anyone built their own foeder

So far going good. I made a golden ale and added a bootleg biology solera sour blend end of Jan. Fermentation kicked off quickly with some krausen coming out my blow off. I have cleaned the blowoff and will leave it for another 7-8 months. So far no leaks and Ive taken a few samples and it...

Would this work as a keggerator?

You will probably have the keezer set somewhere between 5 and 12C depending on how cold you like your beer. Hops will last a lot longer stored in the freezer, I wouldnt recommend storing them in a keezer.

    Keg filling question please

It would still carbonate but very slowly. Its only about surface area (assuming you leave the CO2 connected when carbonating) so doesnt matter if you have 100ml or 3L headspace it will still carbonate at the same rate as the surface area at the top of the beer is the same and any CO2 absorbed is...

    Keg filling question please

I normally do closed transfer from SS brewbucket but occassionally do pressure transfer from a snub nose. Whichever I use I have the fermentor on the worktop and keg on the floor, beer out connected fermentor to keg, CO2 connected together and let gravity transfer the beer. If you cold crashed...

    Fridge Thermostat bypass help

The STC controller will power on the fridge when temp goes above set point and turn on heater when it goes below. So long as the temp isnt below the minimum the fridge can go to with thermostat turned to max then it works exactly the same as bypassing the fridge thermostat. I do this with...

    Choosing a new grain mill

Thats another advantage of the GF mill, you dont need a separate drill. If you dont already have a drill the additional cost will probably work out around the same. Dont use a cheap drill either as it will burn out fairly quickly, I burnt out a Bosch cordless drill after about 60 batches on my...

    Choosing a new grain mill

I upgraded to the grainfather mill a while back and highly recommend it, dont think Ive seen any negative reviews other than the small hopper which isnt a big deal to me.

Looking for advice for my first home brew kit

Hi @AndyDeards. As stevieboy suggests best option would be to use them as a dry hop, this gives aroma from the hops. Assuming you are doing a 23L batch I would add around 50-100g hop pellets to the fermentor. As with everything brewing there are many ways to do things and everyone will have...

    Solera sour method help please

Thanks, so I could just ferment the beer with kviek for a few days (not too worried about completely finishing) then transfer to the foeder and add bacteria? Is this the Brett bacteria I need to add? Would the one I lined be suitable? Do I need to adjust pH at all? Ive read a bit about the...

    Solera sour method help please

Hi, Im looking for some advice from any sour beer brewers. Ive never made a sour but planning to start a solera sour soon, to make it easy I plan to copy David Heaths video series on solera sour, starting with making the Golden Sour. Im struggling to find any stockist of the wildbrew sour...
