    What's for breakfast?

Almost every morning same for me as really like it and its super healthy - Homemade brown bread toast, avocado, homemade sauerkraut, poached egg, half tin of mackerel and a decent amount of homemade fermented hotsauce.

    Is my new regulator dodgy?

Is it coming out the brass coloured nut at the back? Ive not looked at it closely but believe it is a burst disk (single use relief valve). ie its designed to burst and bleed off pressure if it exceeds a set pressure, in order to prevent anything breaking and creating shrapnel if it is...

Would you swap your all in one?

I upgraded from G30 to Brewtools B80 as was looking for more volume. If the DarkFarm vessels had been released at the time I would probably have got one of them, they look fantastic and at a much more sensible price than Brewtools.

    Corny Keg

This is both the easiest and best (in my opinion!) method. Leave the keg in the fridge with gas connected and set at correct pressure, normally around 12-20psi depending on temp and beer style, you arent going to risk overcarbing. Method 1 I havent tried as not sure the beer will really be any...

How much beer do you leave in fermenter when you put into kegs?

If you have temp control then it is definitely worth cold crashing to about 2C for a few days. Just remember that when you drop the temperature the airlock/blowoff will suck back inwards (pressure inside the fermenter will drop). If you have something you can fill with CO2 and connect on in...

    Wort saved for starter issue

Could you not freeze it? This would avoid any chance of unintended fermentation.

How much beer do you leave in fermenter when you put into kegs?

The red filter that comes with it is next to useless, I see there is now a white one which is even finer than the blue.

How much beer do you leave in fermenter when you put into kegs?

Are you cold crashing? This makes a big difference in how much sediment you transfer. I also use a bouncer filter with the blue fine filter inline when transferring to kegs to catch any larger sediment I might disturb.

Beer gun - it is necessary? Other ways to fill the bottles

I used a Last straw counter pressure bottle filler for a few years- it worked most of the time but was quite fiddly and messy so I avoided bottling as much as possible. I bought a boel itap a few months ago, it is a fair bit more expensive but totally worth it.... makes bottling a pleasure and...

    UK CO2 cylinder outlet

I use my sodastream a lot and thought about doing the same. Decided just to get a second CO2 cylinder instead. The sodastream goes through CO2 much quicker than my kegs so its handy having that second cylinder. Only extra cost really is the deposit on the cylinder which is refunded if returned.

Do you fully disassemble kegs each time when you clean it?

I used to. Now I half fill with hot water, pour in some sodium percarb, shake like crazy wait few mins then attach a tap to the beer out and pour through some sodium percarb solution to fill the dip tube. leave 30mins, flip it over, leave 30 mins then empty. Spray out with garden hose then...

Boel itap - Did Boel go bust

I bought a Boel itap a few months ago to replace my very frustrating last straw bottler. The iTap is an amazing piece of kit, significantly easier to use and much less messy than the last straw. I made a pretty crude stand for it and been trying to buy the proper Boel stand but it has been out...

    Brewing at 35C-40C

you could get another bucket and try 2 kits at once, the kviek loves temps around 35C so could do one outside of your cooled chamber. It should be done in a week, bottled then ready to drink a week later.

    Brewing at 35C-40C

I havent bottle carbed for a long time but pretty sure I used 100g sugar per batch and did as Paulus is doing, using a bottling bucket. Pros and cons to both ways but I dont think this is what is causing your issue. I guess you are having very hot weather at the moment? My thinking is that the...

    Brewing at 35C-40C

Are you adding priming sugar to the bottles? If there is not a lot of gas then it is unlikely to be infection as you will most likely get gushers if its infected. This is not really necessary, I would just pitch the yeast directly onto the wort. Everyone has their own ways of doing things so...

    Brewing at 35C-40C

you could try leaving some bottles in a cooler place (fridge, etc) to see if any difference compared to the ones in high temp. You could also try replacing the kit yeast with kviek yeast which can cope with temps upto about 40C without any off flavours

Best places to buy used brewing equipment? And what should I know about used Grainfather kit?

Id probably keep an eye on Facebook marketplace or better yet join a local homebrew club and see if anyone is selling. Most homebrew clubs will have a facebook group or watsapp group chat where you could ask what people are selling. For kegs they usually sell for about £50 each whether on...

I have made an exciting discovery

I made a cracking bbq sauce recently following this recipe. Can use smoked paprika but if you want a good smokey flavour buy some liquid smoke, I got some off amazon

    Tri clamp sizing help needed

Thanks for your reply, I am looking for this for my Brewtools B80. The 34mm Brewtools piping is very expensive which is why I havent changed the rubber tubing to hard piping. I recently bought some other 1.5" triclamp pieces off Ali express and was impressed by the quality and price, thought if...
