    Stout from the keezer

5psi would be enough depending on your beer line lengths. You could shorten a beer line and just use it for low carbonated beers

    Stout from the keezer

Can you disconnect the gas on the other taps, carbonate to like 5psi for the stout. Then reconnect the others. Then just top the stout up for serving? Bit of a pain but worth doing if you can be bothered. The stout tap will just give you loads of foam with just CO2 so I wouldn't bother for now.

    Fermenting wherry under pressure

Hi all. In a bid to fill some kegs I've got a wherry on the go. It's in my pressure fermenter at ambient pressure. Just wondered if anyone has fermented a wherry kit under pressure and higher temperature? I am happy to leave as is, or experiment with upping the pressure. Any thoughts?

    Malted, toasted oats

Yes they do sound interesting, I've never heard of them. You'll have to update us on how they turn out!

    Malted, toasted oats

What's the difference between malted and toasted oats and torrified oats? The wort does indeed look nice, a stout just in time for the winter months, well played.

Britons cut meat-eating by 17% [Poll]

    Probably, but they didn't.

Britons cut meat-eating by 17% [Poll]

While I don't dispute what you say, it's a bit late to tell people to stop having kids, unfortunately. So we have to find ways for all 7+ billion to live on the planet with as small an impact as possible. Not an easy task!

Britons cut meat-eating by 17% [Poll]

I was in London a couple of weeks ago and visited the national history museum. They have an exhibition on at the moment called "our broken planet", which shows how humans have shaped and impacted the earth over the centuries. There were some infographics which I found very interesting and...

    Raspberry stout/porter

Thank you for the info. I was watching a Dr Hans YouTube video (not saying he's amazing or should necessarily be listened to!), he did a raspberry stout with 1kg raspberries at flame out. He said it had too much raspberry flavour and he'd only use 500g if he did it again. Why doesn't 4kg post...

    Raspberry stout/porter

Hi all, I have grown a lot of raspberries this year and they have filled up the freezer! The missus has requested a stout or porter to be brewed, so I am planning on brewing a raspberry one. I've searched the net and have a few ideas on recipes but wondered what others have done in the past...

    Using starsan with wine bottles

Thanks for your replies. Do you know whether starsan is OK to use for wine bottles?

    Using starsan with wine bottles

Hi all, I've been brewing wine kits for quite a few years now, and have always used starsan to sanitise the wine bottles prior to bottling. Is this an OK thing to do? I've never had an issue with the taste but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the phosphates in the starsan aren't the...

    Dry hop bag

If you aren't sure start with a bag, it won't be a problem. Then somewhere down the line you can change and just throw them in, up to you. Are the hops pellets or leaf? Pellets are much finer so seem to sink, especially when cold crashing. Leaf are quite a bit bigger so might be better in a bag.

    Dry hop bag

Yes that is fine, or just don't use the bags at all and chuck the hops in!

    Cold Crash / Carbonate

If you can, yes athumb.. Next brew increase pressure towards the end of fermentation and you shouldn't have to add CO2.

    Priming after pressure fermentation.

Is the beer gun you are using counter pressure? If so you can bottle at whatever pressure you want. Towards the end of fermentation up the pressure using your spunding valve. Then cold crash. Check pressure in your snubnose. I would guess you want something like 12psi at the low temp. Then you...
