    Hi everyone!

Welcome. Whereabouts in Somerset are you?

    Help please

Could have finished already - have you checked the gravity with a hydrometer? I started the same kit a couple of days ago, and it's slowed down already....

A bit of a bargain, but how does this work

UK homebrew shops sell the kit as well. You're just not allowed to use it....!!!???

No trucks, CO2 and Christmas is cancelled.

The CO2 situation really can't be as bad as the doom-mongers would have it. I ordered 20 S30 refills for the shop today - no problems whatsoever...!

No trucks, CO2 and Christmas is cancelled.

I used to work in a meat processing plant. (Beef and lamb) Not a whiff of CO2 there. Animals were stunned with a captive bolt gun, then slaughtered. Not pretty, but effective. I'd happily have beef for Christmas dinner... (Not that I'm that bothered about the dinner itself - I look on it as a...

    Big tin of marmalade

Sounds like plan. Check the ingredients for preservatives though - you may need to boil it to make it fermentable...

    Cider Fermentation and Yeast Selection.

Glad all is well. It's worth taking the airlock off and giving it a clean. In your picture, it is no longer an "airlock", as anything that lands on it can easily transfer to your precious cider...

    Cider Fermentation and Yeast Selection.

If the lid is bulging, it's probably fermenting, just the CO2 is finding its way out from somewhere other than the airlock. I always use Young's Cider yeast, but any Bayanus strain will give good results...

    So who's growing chillies 2021?

I use Chempak No. 4 High Potash feed (Thompson and Morgan) on mine, works a treat. Tomato feed at a push...

New to brewing cider (advise need)

There a few kit ciders that have malt in them - I vaguely remember a Hambleton Bard kit that had it in. Call me a cynic, but isn't the liquid malt a tad more expensive than brewing sugar?? Quite often, the instructions are generic across the range - John Bull, for example. They suggest bottling...
