    Safe cycling! 🚵

Apologies, if required. It's an instinct I try to repress, but occasionally it gets the upper hand. I blame Fridays and beer. 🍻😈😁.

2nd Camden. All right, busted! The pouring foam doesn't last from the garage to the kitchen. Without any spillage. 🍻

I'm tempted to ask, "so between you, who gets the most head!" but then I thought better of it. 🍻😜 Damn, pressed 'send'!

And on to my Camden pale ale clone. Yes, definitely seems hoppier after my bitter. I know it has no condition being casked, but it did have a head until I spilt it off coming back from the garage. Doh! 😭

Or perhaps it's down to the recycling bin it's perched on. 😁

Careful - you don't know who is looking at this. It's like US Paediatricians getting death threats from their grammatically challenged co-citizens when putting up nameplates on their properties. 🥴

And on to tonight's tipple. My Darkish hoppy bitter. I just love this, like all my children.🍻

Burton Bridge Brewery! Great beers every one of them. I've done all the beers at the taproom pub bar, more times than I can remember 😜. Happy days. 🍻

👍 Perhaps only because I'm 20 mins. from the English Channel. 🌊 It's a day out, and with the prospect of a French lunch too. 🇫🇷🍲🍷 Retirees have to find some way of filling their days! (this is discussed elsewhere in this thread 😁

As of 2021 (when even the conversion of the Champagne +/spirits allowance to still wine, permitting an extra 9 litres was removed by HM Gov.), it's now only 18 litres wine per person. That's 24 bottles of 750ml each. The only thing that make it remotely financially viable now is the vat...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

This morning a coffee on DFDS ferry to Calais for a pre Christmas wine buying trip. Preprandial Chimay Biere Blonde in a little town restaurant in Marck, just outside Calais. Then it's Alsace Pinot Noir with local smoked salmon starter. Both amazingly tasty. The it's another glass of red with...

Ah, oh well, as you say maybe it is the whole batch. I would have thought the lack of condition, if not due to cap/washer/seal leak, might be chemical, as microbe infection usually leads to excessive carbonation / gushing - even carb. bombs. You'll know in a week!🍺🤞

Hmmm, v. peculiar. Did the brown-bottled beer have the same off-flavour? If the contamination got in when transferring for batch priming, you would expect it to be in there too, with or without any carbonation being present. If not, the contamination fault hopefully just lay in the clear...

The red wine I mentioned earlier : A 2015 simple Claret, bought from Majestic Calais a couple of years ago. But oh, the aromas decanting! SWMBO'ds pot roast beef went well with it. 🍷

That'll be down to the Protofloc for the last 10 mins. of the boil. Sometimes it takes a while in cask to drop totally, which is frustrating. 👺

Same sequence as ever, my Bitter, Camden pale ale, Honest - the Bitter is darker than the pale ale, it's the phone's camera what done it! Red wine with dinner to follow.....
