Thanks for the replies, pretty much as I expected and might well give it a go :thumb: I would think there would be no problem frm nasties, you're boiling the wort so anything 'getting in overnight' would be killed off in the boil :thumb:

My FV's are 'plastic' and they both have a slight niff about them, but are sanitised each time and |I just carry on using them without any ill effects :thumb: Would treat your PET bottles the same, as long as sanitised they shoukd be OK :thumb:
