    Cerveza Kits

Yes. Most one can/pouch kits are about 1.5/1.8 kg. Most 2 can/pouch kits are 3kg+. Twice the malt, twice the price.

Batch prime or individual prime for bottles

The one's that start at 0.5 and go up in 0.1's might serve if you add a known 0.5g (or greater) weight, if you see what I mean. I suspect most need a minimum.

    Woodfordes Nog

Yes. I've done them all and they are all good quality. I'm pretty sure there was a recent thread about the Nelson's and the consensus was good.

    Woodfordes Nog

Norfolk Nog should be more than 4%. Have you tried the Nelsons Bitter (5%)?

Supply and brewing of Colne Valley Bitter

Brupaks Colne Valley Bitter was one of my real favourites many years ago. Creamy flat Yorkshire bitter reminiscent of my youth. None of my preferred suppliers do it now. I wonder why.

Bulldog Premium Evil Dog Double IPA

I wonder if there has been some problem lately. Previously I did a Triple Tykes and a Pennine Peak. They were good. Recently I did another Pennine Peak and it was my first ever difficult brew. First of all it finished at 1020. Not stalled but finished. Something not right there. I bottled...

    Is this mould? White bits!

I find some of the oak chips sit on the top and some get left behind on the walls after a day or two. It's hard to tell from the photo exactly what the white bits are. As you say, it doesn't seem to be in the wine itself so that's encouraging. If you are concerned, it wouldn't do any harm...

    Is this mould? White bits!

It looks to me like what is left after a vigorous fermentation. In my case on the walls of a bucket. Were there oak chips in that kit?

Adding grape concentrate to an already fermenting wine with a little too much water?

Another vote for just leave it. At least you will know how it should taste, if a tiny bit thinner.

Advice for Brewing in a Sub Zero Winter, Ambient room temperature advise for brewing in the winter months.

The most important thing is the insulation. Sleeping bag, bubble wrap, brew fridge, or anything else. At this time of year, I almost always have 2 fermenters on the go wrapped with a single size sleeping bag zipped up. Perfect for size. I also have them monitored with five temp probes...

Pinot noir v Pinot Grigio Blush

If you work on price and quantity of juice, you will mostly be right with reds. The old Beaverdale Rojo Tinto was ok/good. The new Beaverdale should be similar to the OTH. Both made by the same company, same price, same quantity of juice. Vinco and WinExpert are again the same company...

    New Vine Co wine kits

In a way I agree LED_ZEP that the complexity is missing but I think I can tell the difference between most of the various styles and the Kenridge at least used to have a bit of body where appropriate. But as you say there comes a price point at which it's not worth the bother. If I'm honest...

    New Vine Co wine kits

That's a shame Tom, especially from the Estate range. But consistent with what I found with the Classic. But what's the alternative?

Pinot noir v Pinot Grigio Blush

Which On The House did you try Desmond? I had a Cellar 7 a long time ago, probably a Merlot. Relatives didn't want a second glass! Was a good day when it was all gone. The OTH Shiraz though inferior to the Cal Conn would still be better than the Cellar 7, in my opinion. Others may differ.

    New Vine Co wine kits

The two I tested were the old and new versions of the same thing so they were expected to taste the same. Most of the Beaverdale, Cal Conn and Kenridge were something like the style they were supposed to be for me. But I'm hardly a wine buff. I too like to try a variety of reds, these were...

    New Vine Co wine kits

As I mentioned on another thread, I have a Vineco Trilogy (10/12/20) and a Kenridge Trilogy (12/11/20). Perhaps a little unfair as they are both young and the Vineco only a couple of weeks in the bottle. Both had a similar OG of near 1.093 and both finished near 0.996. I did the side by side...

    Bottle identification

For the last bottle or two in a box, a toilet tube inner cut into 5mm strips, marked up and slipped over the top of bottles. Might not be pretty but releases the box for a new batch. Proper labels for giveaways and keepers, of course!

    Muntons beer kit

Just started drinking the Munton's Continental Pilsner, bottled 26/11. Brews at normal beer temps (20C isg) with m54 as you say. Pleased with it. Early days, most of the bottles will wait a while longer. All Munton's two can kits are good quality. After that it's just about preference. If...

    Next red wine kit recommendation?

Now it is all clear after the major rebranding, much as stated above. I too was convinced that Cal Con and Beaverdale were from the same manufacturer but possibly a different importer. Either way, we now know both have shrunk to 6L. Beaverdale have returned as Beaverdale but as LED_ZEP says...

    New Vine Co wine kits

No worries VW. I don't always bother either. Eventually I'll run out and have to try the new ones anyway. Don't have much choice really. Agree with you and tom on the packaging. If only I could learn to embrace change rather than mistrust it initially. :)
