    Another keg question regarding co2

Hi everyone, I'm finally gonna buy a corny keg or two. My question is once the beer is in the keg does it have to be connected to the gas the whole time until its empty or can you take the gas off to connect to a different keg? Just wondering. Cheers.

Strike and sparge water quantities does its matter?

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if it matters what percentage of the water is for strike water and what percentage is for sparge water.? The reason I ask is im doing a 23 litre brew and brewfather says I need 17.16 litres strike water and 15.58 litres sparge. Would it make any difference if I...

    Clyne's (BrewBru's!) brewday

Hi, I've never used wet yeasts before. I used Nottingham dry yeast that Clyne recommended. I put about 3/4 of a packet into the 9 litres in the fermenting bucket. I really don't know much about brewing though I'm only onto my tenth brew. Does the amount of yeast play a part in the alcohol...

    Clyne's (BrewBru's!) brewday

Hi, I finally got around to brewing this yesterday. Only manged to get 9 litres into the fermenting bucket for some reason but the sample I took from the hydrometer reading tastes lovely already. It's bubbling away in the celler now. Cheers.

Bottle carbonation temp too low 17 degrees?

Hi everyone, I bottled 40 bottles of oatmeal stout and 40 bottles of two hearted pale ale clone two weeks ago and left it in the celler. It's usually 20 degrees but just checked and its dropped to about 17 degrees. Will that affect the carbonation process? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. Its the only thing I can think of cause I've done nothing different. Unless the thermometer is knackered on my brewmonk but I don't think so. Cheers .

Double brew day. Both OG low.

Hi, just a follow up to this. Would the grain not being crushed properly effect the og? I thought at the time that it didnt look as finely crushed as usual. Cheers.

Double brew day. Both OG low.

Hi everyone, like the heading says I had a double brew day today. An oatmeal stout and Bells two hearted clone. The stout was 1042 instead of 1050 and the two hearted was really low 1042 instead of 1064. I've brewed that before and last time the OG was spot on. The only thing I changed was the...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Two Hearted Clone. Only been 3 weeks in the bottle but i thought I'd taste it for scientific reasons 😉its nice and smooth so I think I've got the carbonation right this time. My last few beers were too fizzy. I read somewhere on the forum it gets better around 8 weeks. I'm excited about this...
