    Covid

I'm sorry for your loss. Although I've not seen any 'official' confirmation, I've personally known two people who were otherwise reasonably fit who had the vaccines as a precaution and subsequently (within two or three months) passed away from massive strokes due to blood clots on the brain...

Small beer: Study calls on government to shrink pints

Ah, so continues the absolutely necessary erosion of personal liberty! I for one feel warm and fuzzy in the notion that, very soon, I won't be saddled with the heavy burden of choice. Free gear Keir and co will tell us all what's best for us, good old establishment...

    Covid

I'm certainly not in the at risk group/s and I'm 43 so age is (somewhat) on my side. Saying that, I worked as a (commercial) cleaner throughout the pandemic, still went to work every day in my utterly useless, government mandated, facemask. I was never actually tested but pretty sure I had...

Huw Edwards' BBC pay increased by £40,000 last year

I was watching the report on this earlier, the judge apparently went on and on about how Edwards' mental health was problematic, he was at risk of self harm and was a very fragile individual who just shouldn't be imprisoned under any circumstances. All but patting him on the head and saying...

    Klarstein Mundschenk

I have a Mundschenk and use a pretty big hop spider in it, I've only done a couple of brews with it so far so it's probably a bit early to tell, but I haven't noticed any comparable difference to when I used to do single gallons on the stovetop with hops in bags.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

'Druss Trek IV: The Search for Mead' didn't go so well, so trying a variation of my favourite wine. Merlot from Chile, very nice indeed, but doesn't have the body or toothsome zing of Lateral...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

I did have intentions of making serious headway into my one and only keg of mead, but got half a glass and a lot of gas...empty, hmph! Then I decided to have the second of two 2 litre bottles of mead I'd forgotten about (for a couple of years according to the labels!) that I found while...

    What did you brew today?

Just finished another four day brew day, partially my own fault as I set it all up on Friday but then had a few too many and wasn't up to cracking on with it on Saturday, so did the business yesterday and no chilled overnight, culminating with getting it in the bucket today! No pics as it's...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Right?! Why is there not a religion based on this beer? Why on earth did I only get one? There really should be a church of the holy badger, every Sunday people should congregate and get tipsy on the communion ale'...it would solve 96.8% of the world's issues.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Meh, whatever, couldn't really place anything here. Not bad, but not great Had it before, nice enough, but way more stouty than I remember. Heyzeus tap dancing crimble, this is lovely. I'm sure I've had it before but I'm also sure I would have remembered. You know how some folk will...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Rummaging around in the deeper recesses of my shed, I found a couple of two litre glass bottles full of mead (bottled last summer, according to the labels), no idea whatsoever they were there. The best mead is bonus mead!

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Twenty something years since my pub days, feels like a life age of the earth 🤣 But, hey ho, happy Friday everybody...huh, a few minutes late on that one ...whatever :beer1:

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

 The last time I was in a pub, two quid a pint was fairly common unless it was something fancy, that's inflation for ya! The last of my non-standard beers before I have a few cans of good old Doom Bar... Definitely enjoyed this one more than the Erdingers, although they're not...

First Erdinger I've ever tried (I think) and I'm pleasantly surprised. And another rather tasty offering from Erdinger...

    Yeast slurry as veg firtilizer

I regularly dump it into my compost, which is primarily composed of kitchen scraps and spent grain from brewing, and use that on everything I grow in my garden. So far I've had great results, everything grows energetically, I couldn't speak to the science behind it but it definitely works...
