Buying advice on Grainfather chiller and fermenter

They didn't have the 2 fermenter version when I bought my Grainfather Glycol Chiller, but I can say I'm super happy with the 4 fermenter version I have. I have one GF stainless steel conical (agree about the dual valve comment from @JockyBrewer) and I also use the Glycol Chiller Adapter Kit...

    Christmas music

Well I'm liking this thread. Some great picks. I'm a trombone player - jazz and brass bander, so I start rehearsing all my Christmas music in October/November. That's all part of being a musician though. I adore anything jazzy at Christmas. But for me, my favourite Christmas song will...

    Welsh National Homebrew 2024

I got some good feedback written into mine. I would have scored a lot higher (not that I got a bad score at all!) if I had entered the beer into a different category. Basically it was 'Great tasting beer, think it would have done better in X category' I was dithering between two different ones...

How has it taken them this long?

I just came across this today and I was like huh?!. Takes 5 minutes less than a standard beer kit, I think (well been 10 years since I made a kit, but I'm pretty sure that it only took about 15 minutes) and you still need the normal fermentation and conditioning time. I mean you could actually...

Celebrating 10 years of AG brewing

10 years ago today, I started all grain brewing - hey thanks technology for reminding me of this milestone! Started out with a cool box mash tun and a pot on the stove, and had to chill the wort in an ice bath. Had really no good temperature control on anything at all. And the very first beer...

    Crossmyloof

Pretty much the only place I can get free shipping. Everything else is £12+ - even when they claim to have free shipping if you spend over a certain amount. Well not up here. Love their small amounts of all kinds of cool hops too. Maybe someone will take over.

    Typical Brew Day?

My brew days can be anywhere from 4-8 hours, depending on how long I'm mashing, boiling, doing whirlpooling or fixing all my f**kups that inevitably happen wink...

    Welsh National Homebrew 2024

Scores and winners are up - sheets not yet uploaded Well done winners!!! I am not one, but that's okay! This was definitely a feedback needed beer and nothing better than to have folks who know what they're talking about give me some!

That’s a real shame. Jaega is a huge inspiration to us female brewers!

    Welsh National Homebrew 2024

Had two entries. One I bottled up and it was properly oxidised, I know exactly what I did wrong, so I was definitely not sending that garbage! 🤮 So only one. Hopefully delivered in one piece.

These Ales of Wonder - 12th October 2024

Yeah, as a woman I agree with that sentiment! I think I may enjoy being a judge, but I live way up in the Highlands and even getting beers to try all the styles ,let alone to make it to competitions is an expensive pain.

Festivals that feature food - why use a major brewery?

Definitely helping Dog Falls I think - They've got a planning application in to put in a tap room. I also like how Belladrum uses Black Isle Brewery* and the Burke & Hare stage had stuff from Cromarty, Speyside, and other localish small breweries - had some good pints there *And Innes & Gunn...
