    February competition - Dark Beers

If anyone has asked for my address and I've missed it, do send a reminder as I've had a lot of requests so apologies if I have missed any! So far I've had 3 entries from 2 people arrive but still relatively early days/ I'll be judging on the weekend of the 12th March, so as long as the beers...

    Pub cask yeast

I think some breweries use a different cask condition yeast to their primary strain, so you may wanna check it's the original yeast it's been conditioned with first. It might be easier to culture up yeast from bottles other than cask. Assuming you have a cask with good yeast, the biggest thing...

    Lager than Life competition

Ah cool. I was gonna send off a schwarzbier as well but realised there was not enough time to brew one well.

I don't think so. I only saw it pretty recently.

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

I've entered a SMASH competition, it's not BJCP but I think something organised by a few people. I think this is what I ended up buying, minus the ball valve tap

Hi welcome! I'm SE in Orpington, but have a few friends in Camberwell and spend time there often. I really like Stormbird and the Pidgeon, and Theo's does the best pizza I've ever had in the UK!

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

Most bottles I have are either 330ml or 500ml glass bottles, but I have swing tops as well which requires a £50 fitting for the itap. I've never used pet bottles before, but am entering in a competition where I have to submit in pet. This is a real exception to the rule and not worth getting...

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

I've got a bit of a bonus recently which I'd like to put towards homebrewing (of course!) so was thinking of getting an itap as well. I can use the itap for the majority of my bottles which are glass, but can use the tapcooler for the rest. If I go ahead with this, I'll buy the itap off...

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

Thanks everyone for your input, it's been really useful. For ~£30 I went with the Kegland Nukatap CP bottle filler. That price point makes it quite worthwhile and I'll see how I get on. I would have gone for the itap, but it's quite off putting needing different attachments for different...

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

Is it possible to use the itap as another tap? Connect a keg and serve beer into glasses from it?

    Weird Kveik Taste

I got a message back from Tom at the Yeaster Bunny. He says it's very strange and there have been no complaints from those batches. Test batches went well too. It could be put under high density UV light when coming through UK customs and it killed off the yeast. He also kindly offered a refund...

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

£31 is a pretty good bargain! Also good to see it comes with the gas & liquid posts as I wasn't sure whether they come separately. How have you found using it? The cons to this are the expense really, and the attachments can do only one type of bottle unless you buy more, which put the price up...

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

I'm planning to fill anywhere from 3-4 bottles for competitions, taking to my friends' houses etc. to half or all the batch. It would be good to fill from a couple of kegs in one bottling sitting. If I'm taking beer to a friend's house it's nice to have a variety. I don't know if that changes...

Bottling from keg, what's the best solution

I started kegging about 2-3 months ago and I'm loving it so far. Still need to properly build a keezer but that's another story. Anyway, I do find myself wanting to fill bottles on quite a regular basis but don't have a good way of doing this. I've been researching ways to do this and it seems...

    February competition - Dark Beers

No worries! A note on the outside is fine, I'll tape it to the bottles when they arrive athumb.. I'm judging first weekend of march so as long as they arrive by then then it's all good. I've had an eisbock once and enjoyed it. Also iirc it's a dark beer, so should be good. I'm looking forward...
