Yeah I’m finding that, it’s nice not to have a home brew ‘twang’ to my beer. I’m looking forward to using the BZ more and brewing better beer. Onwards and upwards!

Update. The beer finished at 1.014, by my calculations make it 6.03%. I’m having a little QC as it an anniversary or my mums passing. It’s still very young but promising, I’m quite pleased with it and looking forward to trying it again in a few weeks.

Nah. You only make that mistake once. I have been using the same bucket since day 1, 18 months ago. But you’ve made me think, do buckets and lids have a lifespan?

I used the BZ drain tap from height in to my FV, checked OG and then whipped it up again afterwards so it’s pretty well areated. It’s been in the fridge at 20 so we’ll in recommended temperature. I hope by the time I get home somethings happened. If not I’ll do a hydrometer check and go from there.

I brewed CML’s landlord clone on Sunday and everything went smooth. OG was higher than expected, 1.052 in stead of 1.043. But apart from that no problems. I pitched the Midland yeast at 23c, but this morning there was still no activity. Is this yeast a slow starter or should I be a little worried.
