    can get a bottle of whisky/rum/vodka/gin/etc. in Lidl for around £10 not in Scotland you will not with the already high minimum unit pricing in place set to rise by 30% to adjust for inflation spirits up here will cost double that

    looks like a good upgrade to the flexi buckets, i have switched to smaller 1 gallon DJs for that reason for win but making beer or cider kits be much easier with a rigid FV

    Good point I made that mistake in trying to help my son who likes Corona so tried a CML clone kit. Thankfully the good folks on here kept me right, time will tell still conditioning but tasted ok when bottling well as much as flat room temp larger can haha

    not tried with beers, but tried with cider works in sense of sugar content (provided its pure juice with no preservatives) the taste does not stay tho , think the yeast strips the flavours as it ferments. might be different with beer yeasts tho

    Well that it bottled and carbing up before going to storage for a bit. ABV was low at 3.9% roughly I know will rise slightly with priming sugar. I brewed thei short at 40 ltrs so as others have said it will fall short if made to full 23ltr as kit says

    Working my way through the Lidl stouts this is ok but poor head retention and maybe a little too much carbonation feels fizzy on the tongue so just lose some of the flavour
