    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

i find that when minikegging it helps to have small glasses. seriously. get a 5 oz libby mini pub tasting glass (my favorite) and nip at that sucker all week long. small nips of beer stay cold and carbed long enough to finish before they warm up or go flat.

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

this is a great keg only 38 cm tall shorter lighter and less than half the price of traditional 10 l i imagine the neck is wide enough to get you hand in there but i didint check the dimension of the opening i wish these were available in the states also if they dont have a semi-see...

    Klarstein Mundschenk

hi can you guys help with my water calculations. im trying to make 6 gallons of 1048 wort. the recipe calls for 11 lbs of grain plus 2 oz of rice hulls. the dead space is huge on these things and last time i used it i had to add about a gallon of water to my mash volume to fill the pipe up...

    Store Bought Apple Juice Fermentation

dont burp it. when you do you will suck air back in. although imo ciders are more forgiving with oxidation than beer. especially if you are not using beer yeast. you are fine with leavign the lid loose. if you want a little more protectioin just cut a notch in the top of the opening. that...

chemical tasting can be phenolic esters from high temperature swings. poor temp control. it can also be from your source water. you said the second beer you made came out better what did you do diferently or what do you thikn you might have done differently.

Picture or Video of the day.

omg chippy omg. you guys in uk definately have us beat in the states with those absolutely epic road trips. i googled that town in orkney thinking of course theres no way that it was named after the expletive and alas it is not. " originates from the Old Norse þveit, meaning 'small parcel...

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

so jealous - if they sold this in the states even at twice that price it would be a regular in the lineup. i could literally just pop the tee on now and serve it ice cold from the kegerator. then when its empty you have a 3 liter keg. - genius .

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

this brings up a great point. and the major issue in ss mini growlers and pet kegging. in ss growlers you cant get in there to clean. the recommended cleaning i think is growler tabs which i think is pbw. which brings up the issue of how do we clean things we cant see? there's many pieces...

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

i found this online. not sure if they are new or not but i have never seen them before. this is a cool alternative to the growler spear. imo its better in many ways. it mimics an oxebar cap. low profile and more versatile with the carb caps. 🍻

Something worth reading on X for a change.

thats an incredible story . and a heart warming one. its great to see he went from wanting to end it all to trying to stop people from doing so. theres a show on people who jump off the golden gate bridge. i think they put a security camera there for that reason and then made a documentary...

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

for 5 liters the options you have are the original 5 l mini keg you posted which requires a tapping spear as stated earlier. and a 6 liter super expensive tmcraft type which actually holds 5.9 l because of the gas in dip tube. but it has the advantage of having the posts and even more...

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

mini kegs only and mini kegs all the way!!!!. thats all i do . you have either already done this or really done your research cause you have already hit on alot of the pros and cons of mini kegging. but minis are the cheapest and smallest size footprint entry into kegging. add sodastream...

Has anyone tried 'improving' colour of apple wine with food additive?

100 percent black currant juice in very small amounts adds a nice pink hue to applewine that wont fade and doesn't really affect the taste.
