What are you drinking tonight 2021?

That's what I was thinking and it makes sense. I think it's time to try kveik for summer as I'm more likely to ferment on the high side.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Girlfriend In A Coma IPA @ 6.2%. First tastes are what i can only describe as a little like when you get hair spray in your mouth. Not full on, but enough. Any thoughts on off flavours? My tastebuds quickly adapt and towards the end of the glass it isn't as bad. Its only 46ibu but only 22...

    Stu brü days

#14 Simple Saison - Day 2 So before I could transfer the sainson to the fv, I had to bottle #12 Live is Life, a golden or english pale ale. A bonus point for anyone that can work out why the name? After a dog walk I cracked on the bottling regime at 7am, which included a sort of my bottles...

    Stu brü days

@crowcrow i leave them in, but i plan to test removing them. Some a/b tests planned soon. I do have an immersion chiller but it's a faff with the taps and draining the water. I like splitting the brew day too.

    Stu brü days

Thought I'd jump in and create some kind of brew log... I'll kick off with my 14th brew of the year, a simple saison. I think the majority of the recipe influence came from Greg Hughes, if not a direct copy? Day 1 - mash and boil Day starts with lugging the brew pot and other brew day...

    My Claim to Fame

Me and a mate did tequilas with Paul Young and his manager. I walked past Eric Pollard (emmerdale character) the other day.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

The dry hopped version of my english ipa isnt offering much more, maybe slightly fruitier. I think I'm wanting american style ipa aroma/flavour but from english hops.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

@obscure yeah that must be it. 7.5% i think, in a 750ml bottle with swing cap, although it was crown capped, the swing for you to cap it between small glasses. Yeah right.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Never seen that one, must look out for it up 'ere. The titanic plum is one of the few <fruit>+<beer style> that i actually like. Quite sessionable too, I remember an afternoon with the BiL plus kids in the pub for one before home while the bosses are shopping....... I've just remembered I...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

First taste of my own recipe english ipa. Came in at 6.2% due to better efficiency using crisp pale ale and Nottingham doing what it does. Its only 15 days in the bottle but cleared very well, was hoping for better head but its well carbed now I've sussed brewfather on the carb workings. I'm...

    Water profile for wheat beer

@Alastair70 I've used it before, but under pressure in a pinter system, so hard to say if i got yeast character to its full potential. I'll report back in approx 4 weeks.

    Water profile for wheat beer

    @Alastair70 Ended up going with: Hco3 = 0 Ca2 = 135 So42 = 268 Cl = 184 Hco3 being based on some reading online? Using mj m20 and will ferment at approx 22c, out of my control really 😞

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Had my Sierra Nevada clone. Only 11 days in the bottle but cleared and carbed great. Just tasted a tad more malty, possibly caramel like than expected... i used crisp 150 crystal for this and within 2 days brewed an own recipe eng ipa using slightly more fawcett 130 Crystal. Both should be...

    What did you brew today?

Will be interesting to know the results, I've done a 7 day wheat in the pinter, which i thought it was good. Then did a 2 week wheat using the slurry and it wasnt as good, could be the yeast changed from the 1st but I also changed the water profile. Next I'll try the 1st few days with no...
