What are you drinking tonight 2023.

The better half bought me a couple of beers from Home Bargains the other day. First one, Virginia Beer's 'Saving Daylight'. I wasn't expecting much at all from these, but this one's OK. I'm getting orange pithy aftertaste (it does say that orange peel has been used) and the mouthfeel's quite...

    Anna's Brewdays

What an exciting time for you @DocAnna - all the best! Looking forward to your updates on the move and setting up your kit in your new home/brewery! 😁

    What did you brew today?

Yeah, given that my Klarstein is a 25L model, I've had to liquor back a few times in the past when I brewed larger volumes. It's not a problem but it did add more time to my brew day.

    What did you brew today?

Wife was away to a charity do and the weather was great, so that meant... brew day! 15L of my second brew of a Saison, based on Jon Finche's recipe. Brew day went very smoothly until I transferred from the Klarstein to my FV and found I was 3L short! Pretty sure I got my water volumes correct...

Moving to all grain what's a decent kettle?

I was torn between the 35L digiboil with mash pipe, and the 25L Klarstein Maischfest when I was moving to an All In One. I ended up going with the Maischfest as it was cheaper and suited the volumes that I was intending to brew. I don't regret it. I eventually bought a cheap food grade pump...

March Brew and Swap and beyond.

I'd be up for a Scottish beer like an 80' and maybe a black IPA - they're on my to brew list. Looking through the bible for ideas, something caught my eye - Cornish Tin Miner's Ale 🤔

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Hefe Weiss, based on the Jon Finch recipe. Fourth time brewing this and it never disappoints.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

I volunteered going to M&S for some food shopping today to let the better half spend time with her mum, so that means I got plenty of time to peruse the beer section. Didn't really see anything new that sparked interest, but spotted this on the bottom shelf. It's really good! I'm not getting a...

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

While putting empty bottles up in the loft, I decided to rearrange some boxes to make room for some more 'put that up in the loft' crap... and found a box full of bottles of my Golden Ale that I brewed back in June. I forgot it was there. Result!

    What did you brew today?

Nice sunny warm weather and time to myself = brew day! It's been months since my last brew day, so taking it easy to make sure I don't miss anything. Just reaching the boil now, ready to add the one and only hop addition. This is a Hefeweizen.

    Anyone used Brewathome.shop?

I've bought a few things from them, including a couple of 5L mini kegs plus ball locks. Found the service to be great. Send them an email if you're concerned - they are very prompt in replying.

How do people brew their beer?

I'm the opposite - mostly all grain with extract kits now and again to restock. Will be interesting to see the results of the poll.

    Kits I Wouldn't Brew Again

That's why I bought it too - it was a bargain price and would fill the beer gap between AG brews. Don't be disheartened though, as it's still drinkable.

    Kits I Wouldn't Brew Again

I've read all the posts on here from those that do overnight mash and chill but never considered doing it. I like to do the usual 1 hour mash and use my immersion chiller to bring the temp down quickly. It's just part of the brew day for me. Although it takes time, when I do get peace to get a...

    Kits I Wouldn't Brew Again

I buy kits to give me stock of home brew when I don't have time to do AG. An AG brew day for me can be be up to 6 hours start to finish, including clean up. I just don't have the time these days. A kit can be done in a couple of hours. I know that timings could be reduced by preparing...

    Kits I Wouldn't Brew Again

Following my post within the 'What Kit Beer Are You Drinking Tonight?' thread, and a suggestion from another member, I'm starting this thread for anyone looking for guidance on what kits to potentially avoid. As @alfajerry quite rightly pointed out to me, it's all a matter of taste, and everyone...
