It means 85 grammes in a 5 gallon keg but that sounds like too much to me. Kegs don't require anywhere near as much priming sugar as bottles. 85g sounds about right for 5 gallons in bottles.
I've lost the seal a few times when lifting the malt pipe but always managed to fish it with a big long handled s/s spoon before the boil.
Now I'm dreading the day it doesn't come out and I find it wrapped around the element.
Is anyone going to get The Modern Homebrewer by Andy Parker and Jamil Zainasheff?
I'm tempted.

We go to Shrewsbury Folk Festival ever August bank holiday. They have an excellent beer selection. To me it's as much a beer festival as a music festival
