    French beer

    I should have posted earlier, we are leaving for Ouisterham in the morning. Anyhow, the selection in Auchan was pretty good.

    We've been in France almost three weeks now. I have found good beer from small, local, breweries everywhere that we have stayed; Tours, Clermont-Ferrand, Avignon and Vichy before OrlΓ©ans. We have a couple of nights near Caen before getting the ferry home, so I will see what I can find there...

    They are still going. I am at a campsite in Olivet, just outside OrlΓ©ans enjoying a bottle of their APA, purchased from the local Auchan hypermarchΓ©.

    Ludlow Gold clone recipe please

    The website describes it as "full-bodied soft and creamy golden pale ale. It packs wonderful flavours and aromas of citrus and tropical fruits – lemon, pineapple, papaya" and "Brewed with only the finest local Goldings and Fuggles hops". So my guess would be some wheat malt and/or flaked oats...

    If you have the means chill it for a couple of days before bottling and a lot of stuff will drop out.

    Re-bottling?

    I wonder if adding a pinch of conditioning yeast to each bottle would do the job, without adding more sugar . Alternatively, make syrup and add a bit to each bottle before filling

    Changes to SMASH

    You could just change the amount of hops used at different points in the brew. What you should do depends on what you are trying to achieve.
