    Three vessel electric

Hey @Weizenberg - that looks awesome and very similar to what I want to end up with. All my gear came with a half built control panel and my son is doing an apprenticeship in panel wiring - so with any info you’ve got I think I should be onto a winner!! Thank you 🙏

    July Belgian beers competition

Ooh am I too late for this? Not at home at the moment as away with work but could get one in the post over the weekend I think? If it’s too late don’t worry. Belgian Blond

    DIY neoprene brew kettle cover

Perfect timing! Was looking for something like this for my new brew kettle but couldn’t find neoprene! Thanks @DocAnna 👍🏻

    Three vessel electric

Thanks @JockyBrewer and @tigertim for the replies. I've re-checked as per your advice above and what you've said makes complete sense. The RCD in the distribution board feeding the garage is 40A. I've included a pic of the consumer unit in the garage and the cabling going to the sockets...

    Three vessel electric

Hey all I've recently acquired some new kit (from @big yogi - details here) and looking at the best way to connect it all up to my garage electrics in as safe a way as possibly but also in a modular way that means I don't have cables trailing all over the place. Currently the kettle (70L) has...

    Clyne's (BrewBru's!) brewday

Got a brew in today for the first time in ages. Just finished last years Elderflower Ale so decided it was perfect timing to get another one on the go. Elderflowers in full bloom right now with us (highlands of Scotland). Modified the recipe a little from last year - a little more elderflower...

    Grain conditioning for milling.

Cool thanks chaps - going to give this a go next brew 👍🏻

    Grain conditioning for milling.

Reading this thread with interest. Doesn’t it leave your mill rollers in a bit of a mess and make them more difficult to clean? I’d also have thought it makes them more susceptible to residual water that could rust over time?

    Mash pH meter

Thanks. Read this thread with interest so will be taking it all into account when I take a reading. Cheers 🍻

Thanks @St00 and @Sadfield - top tips. Will do this next brew with my cheapo meter. Every days a school day 😉

    Mash pH meter

Related but kind of not related question. If you’re measuring mash pH - when do you measure? At the end of the mash? Half way through? Both? Answers on a postcard. Or you can just reply to this thread 😂

    Yeast Recommendations for Leffe clone

I made a blonde last weekend and use Wyeast 1214 Abbey Ale. Made a yeast starter but should have done research first as it’s a very slow starter so my yeast starter was probably all but useless and as a result probably only pitched half the amount of yeast I would have liked. OG was 1071 so...

    Brewer's Invert Sugar (Part II)

Thanks both @peebee and @chthon - I took your advice and just fired the table sugar straight into the boil. The wort tasted pretty good to me (but then most of them usually do). Looking forward to the end result :beer1:

    Brewer's Invert Sugar (Part II)

Fascinating thread @peebee even if I don’t understand half of it 😉 So, dumbing it down for me - I’m making a Belgian blond today, don’t have “candi sugar” which many recipes call for, so was left with two options: 1. Use table sugar (there’s lots of talk online about this stressing the yeast but...

    Gorse Wine

Our gorse is still in hiding - not quite warm enough here for it yet 😉 My wine is still in the DJ - maturing (aka forgot about it!) must try and fish it out and give it a try! Sorry not much help 🙄

    Highlands Deliveries Question

I’m in the highlands too (Caithness). What I’ve been doing recently is using highlandparcels.com - it’s Menzies behind the scenes but they give you a virtual address on the “real mainland” - get your stuff delivered there (often free based on many suppliers offers), pay a fiver to HP and they...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Whirlpool arm modification

Maybe it’s just how powerful we like to see it. Some sort of visual stimulus that makes me feel like it’s working. But I have seen a difference since making the mod, but you’re probably right in saying running it as normal but for longer would result in the same/similar end result.
