Supermarket Juice Wine How To guide and Recipes.

I thought I'd join the party :) Did my first WOW at the weekend with a bottle of lowicz (Raspberry), 2l Lidl pomegranate juice, 1l Lidl apple juice, 600g sugar. Fermenting away nicely (within just a few hours of pitching yeast). Also made a wee vid which I'm planning on posting here once it's...

    Elderflower Ale Suggestions?

Hey @Edison - thanks for the reply, sounds lovely! Any chance you can send over that recipe? I use beersmith but the link didn't work for me? Not sure if you share to everyone or just certain people (I'm pretty new to beersmith) - my username is md2k9 on there if that helps? I life in the...

    Elderflower Ale Suggestions?

I know it might be a bit early but I’ve been considering whether to make a beer with elderflower as well - wondered how these turned out?

    British homebrew podcasts/YouTube channels

I should also mention a good friend of mine has a beer review channel (for which I’ve been a guest reviewer since lockdown!) - here’s the latest episode. Feedback welcome and I’ll pass it on 😀

    British homebrew podcasts/YouTube channels

So, very "home made" my vids, working on making them better quality but I've got a few online now - just search for BrewBru on YouTube - or here's a link :) Shameless plug! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB-HmSAduHiDv-86MVxdqEA

    Floaters in my beer

Some good info above as well, thanks both @Gerryjo and @jceg316 (must try that yeast strain you mentioned!). So, decided to get a little bit more scientific about it this afternoon and park the emotion (oh no! I can't brew beer any more!) and focus on the facts. So, I took a small sample from...

    Floaters in my beer

@Beebee31 - That's what's also going through my head, but I'm normally pretty anal about sanitisation. That said, I did wonder whether that build up on my FV could have been the cause of it. I guess I'll find out soon enough as I'm going to have another brew day next weekend. I'll make sure I...

    Floaters in my beer

Thanks @jceg316 - some useful info there. What's annoying me is that I've never had this issue before and this is probably around my 20th brew - but only recently started to have this problem. I've actually been reading on that lager method quite recently (in prep for my lager brew next...

    Floaters in my beer

Yeah yeast is my instinct too but strange as it’s been different types. Some dry (the kit), some harvested yeast made up into a starter. All well attenuated and left to ferment for at least 2 weeks before kegging. I’d say it’s definitely affecting clarity - can’t get them to clear for love nor...

    Floaters in my beer

I forgot to mention above that I’ve tried cold crashing and gelatin to try and clear but even after a week these ‘bits’ refuse to settle. Planning a lager next weekend so would love to get to the bottom of it before then

    Floaters in my beer

Hey all. So I’ve got a weird problem and just not sure what it is. I’ve got about 4 brews now which all have tiny little floaters in them. The first couple I dry hopped so thought it might have been that. But then I had a kit which also had similar floaters (the other three are all grain using...

June Forum Comp - Dark Beers

Hey @Oneflewover - any sign of mine yet? Would have been a triangular box with "Mr Beer Taster" on the label :) First entry in a comp - not sure whether I'm excited or terrified! ashock1

The cheap and easy way to aerate your wort.

Good old electric whisk for me. Sanitise the whisk section, plug it in, blast for a minute or so - job done! Usually find within a few hours the yeast is doing its thing 👍🏻
