    I appear to have misread the finings instructions, it says to add after Primary Fermentation for Beers and Ciders, for wine you add it after fermentation.... oops.     Im new to this so can only advise what I did after advice from local brewshop. I strained mine back into another bucket with Finings for 3 days for it to settle, then into a demi john.     Sloe wine started

    I'm pleased to hear its nice, I started some off last week and its rocking away nicely in a fermenting bucket right now. Plenty of sloes about this year, I had 14lb of them!! Made 3.5 litres of sloes gin and the rest has gone to making 2 gallons of wine.

    Newbie here in need of some advice.

    Sloe wine started tonight, had 14lb of sloes so have done 2 bottles of gin and the rest used for wine. I have added pectolase and have now added yeast so should be rocking by the morning. Another question. Is there a detrimental effect by adding too much yeast?

    Firstly hello, I am actually a really keen gardener and have been training some grape vines in the garden for the last couple of years. This year, for the first time, I actually have enough to make some wine. So, I though I would have a crack at some red wine which is already on the go...
