Whats the most Random wine you have made?

Sainsburys had loads of reduced fruit last night, but a nice find was a box of about 10 mangoes. May make this up with Ginger, what do you think?

Whats the most Random wine you have made?

I was looking through some wine recipes last night and got me thinking that you can pretty much use anything. In Hindsight, I could have saved the pumpkin flesh from Halloween and made some wine. Sainsburys also had loads of chillies in their reduced section and though that would be...

At the risk of rubbing it in, I picked some more today so I can't do another batch of wine, hedges are still pretty full.

    Rhubarb Wine.

I'm new to this wine lark, but I am a keen gardener and it was my grape vines that started me down the wine route. From a gardening perspective, forced rhubarb is much sweeter so expect that it will make better wine. Its not hard, all your friend needs to do is pop a bucket over the rhubarb in...

    My Home made apple press

Will it clear? It's not quite what I was expecting, tastes good though. Starting gravity was 1054 so should be lethal. I didn't realise how much work it was to squeeze the juice out.

    My Home made apple press

The plastic held up ok but I am certain I could have got more had the base not broken. I am going to make some changes though. Is it meant to be this colour?

    My Home made apple press

It broke! 😠 It was the bottom that was the problem, easy fix, just need to pop out and get some more bolts.

    My Home made apple press

After being inspired by some of the photos posted on some other posts, I decided to make an apple press rather than buying one. Probably cost me about £20 as I already had alot of bits, main cost was the jack as I didnt have one. Ok, its not exactly going to make loads, but it will do...

    Bottling After Campden Tablets

I have got the Kwik Clear Finings, comes in 2 parts, you add one and then the other half hour later. You will notice the differences within the hour but they reccomend 72 hours to settle completely.

    Cider advice for newbie

Ok, so, after being inspired by another post, I have started building an apple press, the frames made, just waiting for a Jack and large straining bag to be delivered. I have been looking online at recipes, but have some questions:- The recipes I looked at don't involve adding sugar, I...
