    Collecting the peapods just now as I'm going to give this one a try. Have peas growing in the garden so will make 1 gallon and report back. May be start in a few days. ;) Be interesting thats for sure. Also seems we may get a lot of raspberries and blackberries so more wine on the go...

    All gone, lost to popped corks! rookie mistake........must leave for least 6 months before i bottle. Was fun popping the corks tho. Went off like a f**king rocket and shot over into the neighbour's garden. Not sure they liked being shot with 24 corks! hehehe

    See I thought that was the case as well but I just lost 12 bottles of clear wine to popped corkes, degassed too. Think the temp rose under the stair and started the yeasties going again.

    How long do you think it'll be till you bottle them? I fell for the rookie mistake and bottled after 2 months, guess what happened....lost all 12 to popped corks. ;) You live and learn.

    My new grain mill (pics)

    Got a grain mill from Edina Homebrew in Edinburgh, thanks Davie! Grain falls into the green bucket below...seems to work very well and I shall be making a new beer next Saturday. Only takes around 3mins to crush 1kg of grain by hand.....good for me as I only do 23L batches. :beer:

    Screw tops bottles

    I wondered about this too.... Just bottled four using screw tops and normal corks. Seems to work well, so not sure where the problem is.

    Sounds a good wine. I have a question though....is that not too early to bottle? Will there not be more yeast dropping out of suspension? Sorry to ask i'm new to this and have 8 demijohns that are at this stage.....been racking a lot but not sure what to do. Cheers

    Got these going today, 2 gallons each. Here's the pic's. -------------------- Both started at 1.092 and I added yeast nutrient ans a campden tablet so I will add the yeast tomorrow. Cheers :cheers:

    Thanks for the detailed responce. I too will be trying a peapod wine. Last year we got a bumper crop of peas so if this years the same I'm gonna give it a try. Sounds interesting! Wonder if it'll be green! ;) hahaha

    Been saving lots of wine bottles for my home brew wine and saving the corked ones only. Any ideas if the screw tops can be corked? Just tried with one and it seems a snug fit. ??
