    Supermarket Mini Kegs

If you do the above next time it makes getting that permanent bung out easier. I say easier but it is still a bitch.

    Supermarket Mini Kegs

You have to pull the spacer out and throw away then push your dip tube in a swift moment down on the red disc.

    Supermarket Mini Kegs

You can use your tap with the hobgoblin style kegs. Remove the black venting tap, use some pliers to pull the black spacer out, then force your dip tube into the hole, there is a red plastic disc that is designed to be broken and pushed out the way....

    Old Speckled Hen Mini Kegs

Pretty easy.... The bung on the top can be removed by pulling the vent plug out, drifting the red plug in to the keg and the removing the main rubber bung body by wrapping dental floss round it and wrapping round a screwdriver and pulling. The guy in the video linked below uses pliers but...

    Old Speckled Hen Mini Kegs

Tesco are now stocking Old Speckled Hen in reusable easy kegs.... I know they used to use an integrated CO2 cartridge which made them difficult to reuse but the one I've just bought is in a standard Easy Keg....£16...

    Trying a new brewing method!

Duxux, when you say you use the sheet as a hop filter is the Wort still hot? I was just wondering about sanitation of the sheet otherwise? Sounds like a good method to me.... i reckon I could do a half size AG brew this way with my 15 litre stock pot....

Also it is worth noting I only do a 12l boil and top up to 23litres. Hop weights are adjusted in Brewers friend accordingly. :-)

    Boil Hops in FV

A little advice guys. Normally I sieve out my boil hops as I transfer the wort into the FV but it seems that some got dropped over the edge of the sieve and are now floating nicely on top of the Krausen. My question is should I use a sterilised spoon or sieve to retrieve them out the FV...

Where did you get the bungs with the nut on from? Sound good. Haven't tried the speckled hen ones but I have reused some kegs I got from Purity brewery with no issues. Their vent plugs were easy to get out using dental floss....
