What can I do with this Malt extract?

I reckon I'm gonna get myself some of this to have a "mess about" with hopping and stuff.

What's going on with my brew? Sediment airlock activation

Ahh right I see. Will be using boiled water in the future! As a matter of interest my beer's original gravity was 1.050 and it's current gravity is at 1.022.

What's going on with my brew? Sediment airlock activation

Got an initial gravity reading, but don't want to take another one so soon. I will leave it a week and stir it slowly once of twice. Surely the cold water that you use to top the fermenter up has also been sitting in the tank? Or do you guys boil that too / use bottled water?

What's going on with my brew? Sediment airlock activation

Set my second ever batch of kit beer up on Friday. I had a lovely bubbling airlock all of Saturday and Sunday. My fermentation bucket seems to have a decent seal. When I got back from work on day three (Monday) my bucket was showing no signs of life. No airlock bubbling and no foaming/bubbling...

    Recommend me a beer kit

Will check these suggestions out and have a look on the reviews section too. Really like the sound of the Brupaks Almondbury Old Ale. Out of interest, Grumpy Jack, do you add anything to your Cooper's Sparkling Ale? Sugar, beer enhancer etc.? Cheers everyone.

    Recommend me a beer kit

I'm going to be trying out a few more beer kits before I move on to extract or BIAB brewing, just to get everything second nature-ish. I'm currently brewing my second kit, a two can premium blonde ale. Looking for recommendations for a next beer kit. I like malty beers that balance bitter with...

    What to brew next?

It's currently 5 days since I pitched the yeast on my first batch of beer (Cooper's English bitter). Fermentation seems to have stopped and my hydrometer has read the same two days running. I'm probably going to leave it at least another two days and then think about bottling it. I have a...

    New Member Introduction and Question

Cheers guys. As we speak the airlock is bubbling away. I guess the "head" on the brew means that it's fermenting? I find it comforting to think about how many years humans have brewed beer for, with none of the technology and knowledge available to us today. Will be taking some reading at the...

    New Member Introduction and Question

I've been meaning to look into making my own beer for a long time. On Friday (9th August) I thought I'd give it a go with an uncharacteristic lack of research (I'm a biological scientist)! After buying a starter kit online I returned to my old ways and frantically researched as much as...
