    Wilkinsons Golden Ale

Personally i think this comes out better if you do it to the 23L and add beer enhancer (500g) got mine to 4.5% that way and it was nicer than the one i brewed short to 21L, although they were both very drinkable! :hat:

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

That's roughly what I did with mine Brian, mine has a slight bitter aftertaste but nothing out of the norm, are you chilling it too cold before drinking as I found that can bring a bitterness though? :hat:

    Brewferm 'Grand Cru' Review

It has been in the bottle for 4 months now and I finally gave up and thought I would give on a go, so tried the plastic carbonation bottle. After the first few sips I was thinking to myself this has a familiar taste to it so I let the Fragrant lady wife have a taste and she hit the nail on the...

    Brewferm Oranje Bock

Evening chaps, well nearly 2 weeks in the fermenter and it has finally got down to fg 1010, so by my reckoning it should be around 5.8%. Had a taster of the trial jar, it tasted pretty good so high hopes, might bottle it tomorrow. :hat: (edited 3/9/13) Bottled this today with 72g of demerara...

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

I quite agree Brewbob, it is really easy to stir up the sediment, the bottles cleared really well but i have a thin layer of sediment that is clinging to the sides of the bottle, i left mine to settle out before bottling and have managed to not have too much in the bottom. That said, it is...

    Mouldy top

I had one a couple of weeks ago I thought had gone mouldy but it tasted like it should and the smell was ok so I bottled it and it is fine. So the up shot is if it smells and tastes fine it will be fine! :hat:

    Brewferm Oranje Bock

Evening chaps, I bought this kit on a recommendation by the LHBS, the previous Brewferm kits i have done have all turned out well so no reason this one shouldn't. I brewed this one to the instructions as it is a first for me so I used 500g of dark candi sugar and 12 litres of bottled water, the...

    Wilkinsons Golden Ale

Evening Chaps, I am just testing my second batch of Golden Ale and I have to say I think I have improved on the first! I brewed the first batch short to 21lt and treated the water with a half a campden tab prior to brew the result was a really good ale. The second batch i brewed to 23lt but...

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

The little filter bag that came with the kit did super job of keeping all the crud out of the syphon :hat:

    Does this look right?

I had the bag in some VWP for about 15 mins then gave it a good rinse, i was going to just throw the hops in and put a filter on the siphon so will be a bit miffed if it is the bag! Incidently the bag was new. I don't have a keg as i usually bottle all my brews

    Does this look right?

Afternoon chaps, I recently thought i would have a little experiment with one of my brews by dry hopping, all was going well until i looked in this afternoon and it seems to have developed a skin! I have attached a pic It smell ok and the white blobs i think are bubbles trapped under the...

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

Bottled this today have to say this is the best smelling beer i've made yet. The ferment took a total of 17 days at 22c although i gave it a couple more days to settle out. The Fg was 1004 from a Sg of 1048, which according to the the calculator makes it 5.8% so it actually came out slightly...

    Brewferm 'Grand Cru' Review

I primed mine with demerara sugar although i wouldn't think it would make a huge difference as the amount is quite small.

Judging by your signature GJB if you start with the coopers and work to the right it will be ready when you get there!

    Brewferm Oranje Bock

Just purchased this one myself old boy! I have made a wise choice by the sounds of it. How long are you going to leave it to mature? Did you use candi sugar? :hat:
