    I scavenged real ale and cider bottles from parties over a 12 month period, also bought hoegaarden and saved these. I've invested in some 2 litre spring water bottles from tesco, think they were 12p each or something :geek:

    OK, I'll try that. Is it possible to force carb a youngs pressure barrel? I've got the one that takes the CO2 bulbs on the lid but I thought that was just to push the beer out? :thumb:

    I think people just look at the enjoyment they get from making and drinking home brew and don't really see all the **** that goes with doing it professionally. I guess a lot of business is like that though. It seams there should be more effort put into marketing than actually making the stuff...

    the yeast should still eat it. Ive had a a ball of spray malt the size of a cricket ball in my fermenter and it got eaten up.

    Ive got an 11g packet of Danstar Nottingham yeast and the wort I want to pitch into will be around the 1085 mark. According to http://www.mrmalty.com/calc/calc.html I need 19 Grams of dry yeast, which i don't have. Ordering another packet of yeast will cost me £6 because of crazy postage prices...

    I made my WLP400 up in a 2 litre starter then pitched it two days later. It took about 12 hours to see a head on the wort and the bubbler didn't seem to bubble but the next morning around 20 hours after pitching it had blown out the bubbler. Temp was around the 20c mark. Does the label say...

    Homemade Stir plate

    finished making mine. Used HDD magnets, a washer, 120mm PC fan, a £1 cake tub (pound land ;) ) and an old model train set regulator. Oh and a 75mm stirbar off ebay £5. Had it spinning away for two days making up a 2 litre starter 8-)
