Well, it's all bubbling along nicely. I've now uploaded the rest of the brewday report in a brand spanking new post, together with another dozen or so extra photos. I do hope someone finds this stuff interesting - it certainly smells like it will be interesting to glug, one day!

Great stuff! And what brilliant fermentation - you must have gone some with the aeration. Two captions made me laugh loudly! "So last night I noticed this had happened..." and "There seems to be too much '****' now..." Top notch :cheers:

This might just be my new favourite thread. The scale of even a large micro makes me grin a lot! Also, I had plenty of Wibblers recently! I had lots of Hoppy Helper and at least two darker ales at this year's Chappel Beer Festival - it was all good stuff.

It will certainly be drinkable, don't worry about that! You might have to think up a new name for your next brew though. THE BEER II, maybe?

Yeah, it's only a problem really if you're just using it for colour and then get more flavour than you bargained for... (*checks last recipe apprehensively...*)

All seems well this morning. Captured the target 50L in two FVs at 1.046 exactly with no need to liquor back, which is great. Quite a lot of break in the fermenters for some reason, but actually I don't mind that at all - seems to get things really going in there! I plan to upload more news and...

What is it about midweek brewnights that really get those hops flowing? I'm brewing up a nice hop heavy Best Bitter tonight for my friend Tim, who was a fan of Flowers beers but is now a bit of a hophead. I'm blending these two fine passions in one ale (hopefully). You're very welcome to check...

Friendly with a local landlord? Ask him to lend you a bottle of his pub gas. it'll last years. You then just need a set of regulator clocks, and Norm on eBay can usually sort you out there.

I hate cleaning. But this is now all kegged, bottled, named and stowed away! And there's plenty more cleaning to be done. ****.

This brew revisited a very successful recipe from a year ago, with a few tweeks. The original idea had been to create a modern hoppy mild in the style of Darkstar’s formidable Over The Moon... This year's version used 100% homegrown hops. Read the blurb and see the photos here if you'd like...

Both cans in a two-can kit are the same. And two single cans don't work as a double kit - they are formulated to work in balance with a kilo or so of sugar, not with another can of the same worty extracty gunk. BUT you can use one can from a two can kit, by itself, and use half the water...

I've had my eyes on a therminator for a while, but haven't seen 'em for less than £188 anywhere... Anyone? I saw one at a micro about a year ago, and they are very compact compared to other small scale plate chillers I've seen. You can sanitise them in your boiler, apparently...

Celeia hops, eh? I've never even had a sniff of those, let alone brewed with them - I'll run off and read all about them. Hope it goes well.
