    Einbrew 3V2P - First Brewday

I can thoroughly recommend the controller. Easy to set up and great control over all aspects of the brewday. Saves me a lot of effort around hitting mash temp, and easy to mash out and sparge. The clarity of the wort going into the BT is amazing and efficiency is increased by up to 10% on some...

Long Reach 3kw Element for Shorter Brewlength

Ive seen one being used by Marshall at Brulosophy. However, this is in the States and I am yet to find it here yet. Sorry I can’t be more help.

    Pump power

Homebrew builder has a 12v supply for small pumps. For flow control just add a tap on the outlet of the pump. This will control the flow rate.

    DIY Electric Brewery

For a brew controller look at Einbrew 1V or 3V2P. I have the 3 vessel and it works really well. For parts have a look at home brew builder, excellent service but a bit slow replying to questions. The other option is malt miller, Rob has most things you need.

    Lager yeast, sulphur smell

I would advise to hydrate the yeast (assuming you used dry yeast) before pitching next time. I pitch into 240ml sterilised water and leave for a few hours. It just prepares the yeast for its job. Plenty of info on Google.

How long do you condition for?

As long as it takes to force carb it which is about a week. Any earlier and the yeast is a little harsh on the back of the mouth. For hoppy to insanely hoppy beers I dry hop straight after primary (unless brewing a cloudy IPA), leave for 4-7 days (depending on dry hop level), cold crash to...

    Yeast Harvesting

My FV is a conical so I am going to harvest the yeast before dry hopping. I just wondered whether it would be if better quality from the top. After a little more research I think it’s lower quality and there are some undesirables that have been blown off too.

    Yeast Harvesting

I have experienced a blow over with my latest batch. I use a blow off tube into a 1 Gallon glass carboy filled 1/4 full of no rinse sanitiser solution. When I checked this morning it was still ‘blowing’ so I have left it for now. However, there is a nice level of yeast settled on the bottom of...

    keeping keg cold for 48hrs

I have seen people use a Igloo vessel as a kegerator. Put the cornie in the Igloo, fill with cold water/Ice and install a tap thorough the Igloo wall. This is something I was considering until I bought a tap pressure bottle filler from Malt Miller. Now all I do is run off a few bottles and store...

    Cleaning your lines

When the corny is finished I disconnect everything and give it a thorough scrub with plan water. Then fill with sanitiser and push out with CO2. This is the time I connect it to the beer line and rinse the line through. I do this every time I finish a corny or re-gas a corny that’s been hanging...

    Einbrew controller

Has anyone heard of/used the Einbrew 3 vessel controller? Looks quite new to the market. I’ve been considering a HERMS upgrade for a while but making a controller put me off.

    Beersmith 3.0

I didn’t think it was worth paying for 98% of what I already have. Without a CRS option, I don’t use the water adjustment section.

    Building regs, planning and insurance

I chose to post in this section as I think most of the hardcore brewers are here :ugeek: I have a detached double garage  and its my intension to convert it into an insulated room i.e. smooth screed floor, double skin walls and insulated ceiling/loft. I will keep my garage doors so...

    Sparging lid

I am looking for something that can act as a lid to go on my mash tun when I am sparging. I have a spinning arm to secure through the middle and would like to cut a section and add a hinge to be able to view inside the MT. I have a 10 gal Igloo as a MT which is about 45cm wide. Can anyone...
