    Made some Moonshine (Video)

Oh my God, it is actually fermenting.

    New kegerator build

Just got a cheapo fridge off gumtree after looking out for one for ages. This will hold 2 cornies. The thermostat/light needed removed as it prevented both kegs going in so that came out first: Then room enough for the gas to go in the fridge on the compressor shelf, using the new sodastream...

    Fermentation Chamber.

Mark, How does the TC10 work to control the cooling - does it switch the entire cooler on and off or does the cooler run continuously, keeping the ice bank cold and the TC10 switching the pump on and off? I guess with the latter cooling response would be quicker when required. Is that even...

    Any bikers among us?

I also sold my bike about 5 years ago - Yamaha Fazer 600. It was around the time that my first child was on the way. Kids are now 3 and 5 and I am hankering after another bike. I really fancy a big BMW trailie, as I'm 6'3" but doubt the wife or the bank balance will allow it!

a bad days fishing beats a good days work! (photos)

I wondered if it was Loch Tay. Not fished Loch earn before - they are nice trout.

Hey Mark - where were you fishing? Looks well north of Dunfermline...

I'd classify that as "specialist interest".

How to fit a regulator to the new Sodastream bottles

And with the gas setup being this small, I plan to get hold of a round ice coolbox that will just fit my baby corny and the sodastream bottle/reg inside. I can then fit a kegerator tap through the wall of the coolbox for a party keg setup that just dispenses cold beer without having to faff...

How to fit a regulator to the new Sodastream bottles

I have fitted a regulator to the new style sodastream bottle for dispensing from cornies. The problem with the widget world system etc is that you cant apply a constant pressure for dipensing like I can with my pub gas bottle and regulator. But the pub bottle is not easily taken to a party etc...

    kolsch brew saturday

I just did my first kolsch with the whitelabs yeast - just started drinking it and am really pleased with it. Pitch a good size starter. I did a 2L starter made with 2 vials of yeast into a 45l wort. The yeast is not that flocculent so if bottling it will be hard to get it really clear. Used...

co2 supply in Glasgow / Edinburgh

I'd reccommend BOC Sureserve. They seem happy to deal with domestic users, are cheap enough and the service is good. They operate a "milk round" delivery system. I ran out of gas on Sunday morning in the middle of kegging, so called them up and the driver came at 9am this morning and dropped...

    Jockey Box Cooler

Sounds good - think I will try and build one of these. :thumb:

    Jockey Box Cooler

I like it. Nice piece of work. What sort of plate chiller is that? Does it somehow accomodate 4 lines in/out? Thought most of them would just take one line in and out or have you converted it somehow? Do you find it is effective at cooling with the plate as opposed to a coil? Any foaming...

    Jockey Box Cooler

I'm looking at beer cooling options and came across this - seems a popular method in the US: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRAFT-KEG-BEER-COOLER-120ft-COIL-JOCKEY-BOX-KEGERATOR-/230669691729?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b4fc2b51#ht_1073wt_1073 Seems a simple enough idea but the price is way...

    Brewing outdoors (with electric)

That's a good idea - a kind of temporary corrugated plastic shelter for brewdays would do the job nicely to protect from the weather. Glad I am not alone/mad in using leccy outdoors.!

    Brewing outdoors (with electric)

As I no longer have a garage, I am now forced to brew outdoors for the time being. I tried gas, but found it a right pain - particularly the wind played havoc with the flame and was hard to get an even efficient burn> And it was messy and a bit of a faff. So decided to go back to electric. I...

    Pump won't pump!

Well the pump now works. Very simply, thee problem was the protective bungs on the pump inlet-outlet were lodged inside the JG elbow fittings. Funnily enough, it now works perfectly....!
